I have had these two for about 10 years now. I was just a teenager when I bought them for $72! They have been through a lot; life in a 10 gallon tank, a move to college, two apartment moves, and finally a move to my 120 reef that they have been in for about 3 years. They lay eggs all the time but I have never done anything with them.

ha ha but those ocellaris you posted wont get you in, the percula pair is very nice, 10 years is long time to have a pair of fish congrats.

So, I was in Ohio on business and found these little guys at a LFS in Ohio. I was told they were WC but they're REALLY friendly. If I want to catch them all I have to do is put a deli container in the water and they'll pretty much just swim into it. I put the dominant pair in my rack that's been under hypo and formalin (new nigripes) for a few weeks now. The subserviant pair went into a coral tank by themselves.
Both pairs got prophylactic treatments while I was still in my hotel room in Ohio!

Thanks guys. I'm pretty happy with them. It's the first and second pair I've ever owned. I've got some of the rarest clowns in the hobby but I had never owned a pair of percs until now. Weird huh?

The store was in the Cleveland area. I bought all that they had in stock. ;)

well that one we had a hard time judging if it was a true perc or not. I am taking it back to the store..at first they seemed like they got along..After the other got settled in and hosted the frogspawn with the True perc. it wouldnt let it near the frogspawn anymore and kept attacking it.
So I just got it out of the tank and the other Perc seems much better now. Its acting calm and nestled into the frogspawn looking content

here is another quick shot....maybe can get some other details out of this one

Well ladies and gents, I hate to burst your bubble, but this one ends up in the Ocellaris club. When looking at the eye you must remember the flash and indirect lighting play tricks on you. I bet if you saw that fish in person the outter ring will be muddy, unlike the crystal clear eye of A. percula.

Look at the eye in the upper picture compaired to the lower. This is a great example. The A. Ocellaris eye is a little darker even at this angle.

here is mine
I got these 2 yesterday, I know this one is a true perc

I am still not sure about this one though. I thought it was but I am having my doubts

dont matter anymore if it was a false..its back at the store cause it was a JERK..but from the others in the tank with it that where all the same..I was thinking it was a true because a few of the others where getting the much darker black areas.
