The Percula Club.

Just joined today. TR Perc. I'm hoping to pair it soon with a rods onyx. Thats why I got it small.

My original pair, in which is my avatar, was purchased as juvenile wild caught True Percula Clownfish from
Beyond the Reef http://www.beyondthereef.org/
in Schaumburg, IL. in 2001. Funny enough, just digging through some old receipts I happened to find the original receipt a few months back. Thant was pretty cool!
Anyway, although I may show a little favoritism, they developed into the most beautiful pair of clowns I have yet to see in person. Here are a couple pics.

After a move to Chicago and my first successful rearing of a couple of batches or babies I have a bit of a tragedy. Housing a few pair in some breeder’s nets on my 120 gallon display tank, our cat got on top of the tanks light fixture and knocked on of the breeder’s net into the tanks. With Papa tending to a nest, he wasn’t too fond of the idea of another pair in his tank so he came to fend off the intruders and managed to end up on the floor. (Carpet Surfing)

I then paired up a new male with on of the nicer looking, most black, 8 month old fish I had and it was the cutest thing you ever saw. Mama took right to the new little guy and took him for a tour of the whole tanks showing him all the little nooks and crannies. She then brought him to the nest and persisted in showing him his new job of tending to them, I thought the nuns in Catholic school were bad….Mama was tuff.

That batch went ok and to my surprise, mama never missed a beat and laid her nest set of eggs down as if nothing happened. I figured I would get a few batched unfertilized for a while until the new male matured, but low and behold, the little guy fertilized every egg in that first spawn at only eight months old.
Here are a few pics of the new little stud, which has been with mama for almost a year now.

Here are a couple of nice picture of one of the males, from the original papa #1, that has really colored up nicely.

Well, there you have it, a little more background on the life of Kmiec123.

So an Occelaris is like Nemo, right? No black what so ever? Chances of pairing this one with an Onyx(Rods)? Sorry I'm not in the club yet. I do have a pair of GSM, but that is not Perc also =(. Darn LFS, mislabling.

nope there are black occelaris that are completely black and there are ones that have a little black like mine, but there are ones that are completly orange. look at the clownfish id page and you can see the diff

My male of this pair is actually a Ocellaris/Percula hybrid. I have other pairs. I will try to post picture of them later.

Mona,
BTA sometime can caouse the color of Percula to fade. Various people have documented this. I wonder if your Percula would be much blacker if they do not live with BTA as host. Please do not get me wrong. I think your tank is very beautiful with those Rose and Green BTA and clowns.

OrionN,
I gave them a healthy looking Gigantea but they loved it to death. Everybody wanted to be in it and they kept jamming their heads in its mouth. Their loss. The ingrates.

Definately some beautiful fish and great photography here. :D
Speaking for myself, I agree with "beautiful fish" but not "great photography". I must have taken 50 pictures to come up with these few. I am still not happy with the pictures but it is the best I can do right now.
Thanks
For other who posted pictures, there are some very beautiful fish and some great photography. I wanted to added to the thread and to brag about my fish a little.;)
