The Reef Central Corner Club Thread

I found WP10's, just the pumps alone, on Ebay for $38.50 each with free shipping. Might have to give them a shot if I can't find a trade on here.

here is my 55 gallon corner

here is my 55 gallon corner

This is my little slice of God's ocean.
it is a old school TruVu conner tank with built in sump system. Gutted of course. I have about 125 lbs of dead rock (now live ) in the tank. No live animals in the tank as of yet but soon I hope.
can't load pics yet but I hope to show it soon.

55 gallon corner W/Beananimal overflow

55 gallon corner W/Beananimal overflow

Anyone put the Beananimal overflow on their 55 gallon corner tank? anyone use smaller than 1.5" down pipes? Need some help with design sizing.
Any help would be great and please provide pics.
Thanks

My ram have you purchased the 10's or are you still with your 25's. I have recently changed how mine are set up and really enjoy the flow it offers. I have them in the back about 5-6 inches deep on else mode. I have them converging flow right in the middle to create a turbulence effect. I put the return pointing down a 25-30 degree angle to go underneath the flow from the pumps. It creates a nice gyro like effect! Also, since having the LEDs, I have purchased a 2x24 T5Ho that will house an ATI blue+ and an ATI true actinic. LEDs are about 9 inches off the water line and I peek at 100% blue and 50% white for 2 hrs a day. SPS was shading underneath where the LEDs where not hitting the coral directly so I decided to angle the T5 lamp at an angle where it will hit all of my corals from the front. Once I replace the 6500K T5 bulbs the lamp came with I will post a picture for you guys to check out!

I'm actually swapping out the 25's this weekend for 10's.

I have them on each side panel, back against the overflow, about 5-6" deep. Aimed to the front and up.

I can't dial them up at all without getting a sandstorm, W3 or Else mode is crazy and ugly. I keep them in C mode with 4 lights lite for each flow.

My return is a locline flare fitting, aimed dead center front glass, and down a little...........probably around 300gph.

Here's a fresh picture I took tonight.

Not that one, that was taken with my daughter's Canon DSLR.
My Galaxy S4 takes good pictures, but has a hard time with the lighting of the reef tank.

I swapped out the WP25's for the WP10's this past weekend, and now I can fully use all functions on the controller. The 10's still put out a lot of flow, but is much better in my tank than the 25's were.

Damn..........now that's a big corner bowfront..........230 gallons.

Any pictures of the full setup yet?

So far just the picture of it empty at the guy I bought it from in post 3306. Yikes, that was back in February, I need to get my butt in gear!

Well, looks like my time here in the corner club is creeping to an end. I recently purchased a drilled 90 that I will be transferring all of my stuff into. It was a hell of a ride, and thanks for such a cool thread to aid me through the first stage of my reefing experience. Best of luck to all of you corner owners out there and have fun. At this point I sure know how difficult these little beauties can be and I am excited for the next chapter of this rewarding and exciting hobby!

The hardest part of a corner tank is flow..........it definitely presents a challenge getting good flow thru out the tank.

Good luck on your next tank.

I'm getting closer, plumbing is done,

I hope to have it wet next week. I want to polish it out a little bit.

Are those 2 Reefbreeder Photons?

Your horizontal runs of pipe are going to restrict your drain flow a lot, might be something you have to change in the future. Easier now before it's wet.
