GAWF - sorry to hear about the swirls! I always thought i'd like to have one, but have no sump and don't know how i'd plumb into one except for having hoses hanging all over the back of my tank and a huge pump in the display tank. I have a K1 and K3 in my 54gal, and had them on the back sides pointing across the front as much as possible. I moved my K3 to the front curved glass and pointed it onto the opposing side rock wall, and it's so much better! Keeps any detritus off the rocks, and is giving crazy flow to the SPS that are on that side. Flow across the sand bed is a lot stronger as well! I'm still thinking about getting a K4 and putting that somewhere.

gawf how low is the power setting on the vortex? or is at 100%

Im going to try putting the vortech on the front panel to see how it works. I have it on the wall right now running at 100% on reef crest. I feel like it could use more flow from the other side.

Michael, Im glad to see you back & that your tank was ok!! Im getting it new of someone who never used it for $350, it's a deal to good to pass up, again, never used.
Jesse, I cant wait to see what the tank looks like when its filled w life...but those crabs are a great start. I my self have some of those porcelain crabs & I love them. I have a local one from here in FL & the white one you have aswell.
Where would be the best location to mount the vortech in our tank thats not in the front glass??
I started to re add fish to my tank, so far so good (knock on wood)!!

By the way, i read back through the posts (WOW that was a lot!) and someone mentioned creating a corner club avatar. Any news on this? I think it would be an awesome idea!!!!

P.S. Mike, i'm glad to hear that your tank was fine after your seperation. I hate leaving mine for more than a weekend so i know how you feel!

I tried it at various power settings for the first two days and have selected "MAX POWER" as my optimum going forward. (as if there was any other option).

No worries Reefscape. Despite having to send them back for repair/refurbish, they really do a good job with my set up. In fact, at one point I considered splitting my return and running both at once from opposite sides. I gave up on that as my single 1" overflow drain would have to be modified to handle more flow. Glad to hear you found better flow with the K3 relocation. It seems Koralias are very popular in this forum, but having used them before as well as Tunzes, I prefer the Tunzes.

WOW glad I am in the top 50. Great job everyone on a great thread.

I have yet to post any pics of my 54 corner tank. I am into my second week of having it up and running. Everything and everyone seems to be doing great after transferring everything over.
