The Tank that REEF CENTRAL Built - 450 gal display, 800 gal volume

So Here are some pics of what I picked up on Sunday, and SPotter helped me move inside yesterday. It is a 210gal and I have dubbed it:
THE TRANSITION TANK.
it is what we will use as an interim tank when we move and before we have the BIG build.

Here is what the tank looked like when I left for work this AM.

And this is what she looked like when I got home. If you look closely you can see the good looking and incredibly talented photographer who busted *** on this puppy all day.

She also sanded and primed the stand.
And I completed the plumbing when I got home from the office.

We sold the 110 (pics to follow) today, and it will be broken down in a week or two.
And the 180 has also been sold, to be broken down this week.

Tomorrow I will add some pics of some of the equipment I bought for the Transition Tank with the plan of using on the big build.

Finally, tomorrow is the frame walk through and pre-drywall meeting.

THANKS again to everyone who helped me get ready for that meeting. I have some great notes to take into the meeting and address with the builder and electrician.

Wow what a transition in less than a day. I will say that the before pictures dont really show how dirty that tank was!!!! Dana did an amazing job!

Yeah. She is incredible. I am a lucky guy to have a wife who is more into the hobby than I am. She is in such control of all these tanks that she won't even let me do water changes!

Just got back from the pre drywall.
I will be posting the pics and results later this evening.

So many of all of your suggestions were implemented!

So Pre-drywall meeting with the builder:
It was a very successful walk though and everyone's input was used whenever possible.

FIRST a QUICK OVERVIEW of where things are going to go.

The tanks are going to go in here.
The entire right side of the garage is going to be closed in, vented to outside, and airconditioned for the FISHROOM.

This is a view of the living room and the main 450g tank will be on that wall where the white insulation bag is hanging. It will span almost the full lenth of the wall from the fireplace to the hallway into the master.

Another perspective of the wall the main display will be on

This is the space under the stairs, it does not look like much but looks can be decieving, we have added 4-quad GFI outlets, A/C and ventillation. We will be able to fit 4 to 6 29gal biocube HQI under here easily.

This is in the master suite, and is the backside of the wall where the main display will be. This is where the 150ish (size TBD) second display tank will be. It will be housed on a MOCK dresser which will actually be a fish cabinet and give us additional Under tank space for equiment.

So that is the 4 main aquarium designated areas: Livingroom Display, Master Display, Garage Fishroom, Understair bio-cube collection.

Nice update.

How is the structural support under where the tanks are going to go?

Did they beef it up any?

Wait are those concrete floors?

You had better get that roof on. Those clouds look like they are darkening.

Yes concrete slab, but main display is going against a load bearing wall where footers were dug, AND he took the footer out 2 feet wider from the wall exactly where the tank footprint will be. In his words, "you could park an 18 wheeler Mac-tank on this bad boy"

Mt. Pleasant.
If you are familiar with Charleston over the Cooper River bridge from downtown on 17N.

Used to live on JI and then on Bee Street. I was a bouncer at Café 99 for a while and then moved on to being the resident potter at Middleton Place for a while. All this while my wife was in dental school at MUSC.

My brother and his wife still live there. Go visit Holy City Tattooing Collective if you ever want some ink.

Excellent. Make sure you plan to come by if you are ever visiting. Wife and I am actually thinking about getting tattoos. I will look them up!
