Hope that helps.

Just spent all night setting up the Transition tank.

Broke down the 180 and the 110. Which was sad cause they have been in the family for a while. But they both sold this week, and are getting picked up on Saturday.

The transition tank looks incredible, and I can't wait to show you guys the results of Dana's efforts. But right now I am crawling into bed after spending the last 30 hrs tanking.

Haha. Saturday is tomorrow, I keep thinking it is Thursday, because I never went to bed yesterday..... This is going to throw me off all weekend.

Used to live on JI and then on Bee Street. I was a bouncer at Café 99 for a while and then moved on to being the resident potter at Middleton Place for a while. All this while my wife was in dental school at MUSC.

My brother and his wife still live there. Go visit Holy City Tattooing Collective if you ever want some ink.

Do you visit here often?

A few times a year. They just bought a house so I might be up there soon.

Make sure you let me know next time you are back in town. I'll have you over for some Stone IPA. Promise not to do you like I did SPotter and make you help me move a tank!

Which reminds me, Steve, I owe you a few beers.

Bill, do you know what model it is? My guess is that its too small for your system. You might be able to add a second chamber to it though.

It is the GEO 624, but I don't see a gallon rating. I'm guessing that is because it depends more on the calcium demands of your inhabitants than the volume of the system.

BTW, I am working from home tomorrow. I am literally holding off on posting updates of the results of the Transition tank until you can see the setup in person. You need to swing by tomorrow.

It will definitely depend on both volume and demand coming from your corals. You might be able to get away with it for a short period of time but once you start loading that systems with corals you will need something bigger. Have you figured out what your TWV will be once all of the tanks, sumps and fuge will be set up?

Please dont hold off on posting pics of the 210 on my account. Things have been crazy for me. We have family down from NJ visiting and I am running around some other things I have to get done before I return to work this week. I will definitely stop by as soon as I get a minute to myself.

It was a busy week. After we picked up the transition tank, the 180gal and the 110 gallon sold in less than 2 days.
Dana had been hard at work all week on getting the 210 ready for housing the contents off those two eminent breakdowns and on thursday we sprung into action. I had to work on Thursday, so around 8:30 PM, as soon as the baby was asleep the work began. We worked all night, took a break to get the baby up and take him to preschool, and then went right back to work. We passed out around midnight on Friday. It was an exhausting and rewarding 42 hours straight. Then we were up the next morning and both the 180g and the 110g were picked up by their new owners.

Here is the 180g and the 110g that we had to say goodbye to, and some of the contents, in bins for safe keeping duing the move.

Had 3 of these bins holding corals:

Just SOME of the live rock: most of it is finished bleaching, and is undergoing an RODI soak now.

This is how the frag tank looked while we were housing everything as we did the break downs and set up. CROWDED!

Man pulling an all nighter is an understatement. Rest well sir.

All recovered now. Now that the new tank is stable we are doing things at a more normal pace.
Added chiller and under cabinet lighting yesterday.
Added the carbon, GFO reactors & LED suplement lighting the day before

The transition tank transformation reveal!

The transition tank transformation reveal!

Keep in mind I can take ZERO credit for the transformation on the stand. Dana "theReefQueen" did it all. Sanded, puttied gouges in the wood, redid all the trim work, primed, painted, replaced the hardware, and repainted the whole stand.
AND SHE DID IT ALL IN THREE DAYS!!
SPotter and another buddy brought the tank in late monday night, and Dana & I had it in place with water sometime around 5AM friday morning.

Again here is what the tank looked like around 10AM Tuesday morning just as she was getting started. Notice the maple color. Not very flattering, and the tank was a wreck!

Dana's rehabbed tank & Stand: I am a lucky guy to have such a skilled partner!

The FINISHED PRODUCT: The aquascaping is where I step in, and then Dana takes care of ALL the daily maintenance. Feeding, dosing, cleaning, water changes. ALL HER.

And that is the Transformation of the Transition Tank in three quick pics.
Let me know what you think, and what questions you have.

You need to rent her out. I have a tank she could rehab and once she is done with that I have a kitchen she can rehab.

IT LOOKS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe

Looks good. I have a question that I might have over looked while reading this thread. But why are u keeping multiple Bio-cubes, with the huge system you are building, and why are u putting them in a closet? Wouldn't you and your talented wife like to see all the display tanks?
