Tips and Tricks on Creating Amazing Aquascapes

Well since i did not really attach things as well as i should have things have fallen been moved etc. I think i want to simplify the aquascape a bit. More of a tree going straight up the middle and more room around the live rock. This might involve actually taking some out. Suggestions on reaquascaping the tank? I mean i know i will have to take the rock out and drill etc. What issues will i run into? I know there will be a little bit of die off but has anyone done this and has some tips/suggestions? Easiest, cheapest way to do this? I read once to use reflectors from the road as the support and drill holes in the rock and then use puddy to connect them. Is this still the best way you think? What about zip ties?
 
I was hoping others could give me some advice here. This is a 210 viewable from 3 sides. I am going to redo the rock structure with rod, and cement, but want this to be more aesthetically pleasing. I have about another 100lbs of dry rock that I can add, but would like to see what others would think would look best. I've read this entire thread, but want opinions.

I want to say first i am jealous but second you have a lot to work with. You will need more rock and man you have a ton of stuff you could do with your tank. Just do a search for aquascaping and get ideas that way. I am going to do mine with pvc and my rock this time. This weekend is going to be fun redoing my rock i think.

Well, I just acid washed another 100 lbs and am doing another 60 LBS going now.

I will be pulling the rock in the tank as well so it can be cleaned too.

I think it's like me as a carpenter showing a piece of wood and asking people what I should make out of it.
I think the whole point of this thread is to help you find what you like, and what you want to make out of your tank, and how it can be done.
Asking for pointers on adjustments is easy to comment on, but skies the limit on possibilities w/ that tank and that much space.
Maybe base your design on what animals you wish to keep, and go from there.

Thanks , I know what I like, but have not seen a tank similar to mine. I am not very artistic, and pictures are a big help to me. Also hearing others input is valuable to me as well.
 
Well, I don't want to take away from OP's post too much by diverting to another, but there is another thread called "show me your pillars" that may give you ideas.
Being already set up it may benefit you to create pillars on rods that you can lift into your tank.
You really gotta just start putting your rock together and see what fits naturally.

Normally I scape right away and w/out water in tank, I don't know if that is an option for you in that size tank to drain into brutes or something or not.
Another thing I do is cover glass both sides as I lift pillars over and in, just in case, cardboard for outside, eggcrate or something inside if doing wet.
 
Dave, I am going to completely drain the tank and start fresh. Thanks for the idea about covering the glass when I put the rock in. I will also put fresh sand in as well. I think I will use the Tropic Eden reef flakes.

Cool, and really like the scape on right a lot.
I have been using caribsea seaflor special grade for a long time now, it doesn't get blown around easy in moderate to heavy flow, but I see many good comments on tropic eden too.
Looks like you are well on your way to a nice facelift! (or scape lift)
