I heard once the light bulb burns out you have to buy a whole new light

I got one at reefapalooza. I wish I had gotten the glass one. The plastic one scratches too easy. Not bad for $20.
One of those mini powerheads was a perfect addition.
Here it is on my desk

If I had it to do over again I would get the JBJ 3 gallon picotope and create a lighting configurationOriginally posted by Steveabg
I read that, too. So, they make them in both plastic and glass?

It is made of glass and JBJ sells replacement bulbs.
The light is only 9w though.

Deco does make them in glass. I cant imagine that you cant buy a replacement bulb.
I was also looking at the jbj it looks the same as the deco with a couple of exceptions
The light is 9W instead of deco's 18
the filter is only 40gph compared to deco's 80gph
but i think the jbj is $10-15 cheaper.
So many decisions, what to do?
alohagreg nice tank!, is that the 3 gallon, and where or who did you buy it from at Reefapoloza for only $20
and how well do corals grow in there? I actually want to make it an all polyps and xenia tank. Would it work Well for that purpose
