Toofrigginswt's Custom 125 Gallon Tank Build

Went to Shop Heroic yesterday and found a box of this rubber puzzle flooring for $15. I decided to use it as cushion underneath my sump. It turned out pretty nice.

Hopefully this will help minimize any noise from the sump.

I'm waiting on a large order from Bulk Reef Supply. I ordered a bunch of Sch 80 fittings so I'm hoping to get the plumbing done within the next week. Also, I'm going to probably change the outlet to a GFCI tomorrow. Then drill a hole on the wall to run my lighting wire through it. I'm still trying to figure out how I want to mount my lights. I want to do a motorized lift so I'm currently doing research on what actuators to get.

As always, I'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks for reading.

A lot of good looking equipment in that shipment. Things look like their progressing pretty well. I'm interested in how you're going to be mounting your lights.

I'll be watching this and hope to see it keep progressing.

Thanks! I'm still not sure how I'm going to hang the lights yet either... I would really like to have an electric lift but I'm not sure if I'm mechanically inclined enough to put something like that together. Lol

Some more goodies were shipped to my work today!

-Red Sea Coral Pro Salt
-Hanna Phosphate Tester
-Finnex 500w heater
-Reef Keeper Lite

I don't know if you've had a controller before but I'm loving my rkl. If you have any questions about setting it up, I can try and help.

That's another good shipment. How many more goodies are you planned on getting?

Thanks! I've seen these controllers in action but I've never owned one before. I'll definitely reach out to you if I have questions on it.

Here's what I'm still waiting for in the mail this week:

-80lbs of Key Largo dry rock from Marco Rocks.
-Dosing Pump
-Dosing Containers

I still need to purchase or make/diy the following:
-Two Vortech MP40's
-Custom Acrylic drip tray/catch tray in case of a power outtage.
-Cabinet Skins
-ATO Reservoir
-Refugium Light

I think I'll be officially up and running with water after I get all of these things in.

i recently got myself a RKL too, love it =) just what need to have some peace of mind, nothing too fancy, just works. =) good your almost there, wanna see this thing up and going, killer build.

For my plumbing, I was planning on using flex PVC for my return to help reduce the vibrations of the pump. However, I got bored and had extra PVC in my backyard so I decided to experiment. The plumbing has been dry fitted as a test. Please ignore the zip ties. Lol. I was too lazy to run to the store to get PVC hooks for support. I need your expert advice and critiques!

Note... The manifold is for GFO, carbon, and a spare.

I might change it up to where the return pipe is push back towards the wall.

Do you guys think my manifold should be standalone like that or should I have it connected to the pipe right above it?

Jonathan very nice.
I like how you did the manifold.
I do the union also just in case I want to change the manifold out later just get another union.
As for spa flex I think regular PVC looks cleaner.
I would get rid of the gate valves on the drains thou JMO

Thanks Paul. I actually need at least one of the drains to have a gate valve since I'm doing a Herbie overflow. I need to reduce the flow enough on one drain to create a full siphon. The other drain is an emergency drain and technically does not need a gate valve. But since I already bought it, I decided to put it in :)

Oh ok.
I thought about that today at work.
I remembered you saying you were going to do a Herbie overflow.
But I forgot after drooling over your pics.

1st shipment of Marco rocks came in. It's about 50 lbs. This is actually more rock than I thought. I have another 40lbs coming in next week and now I'm beginning to think I over ordered.

This is my first experience with Marco rocks and it has been a very pleasant one. The shipment came in very quick and the rocks look awesome. Everything was packed really well with each piece individually bubble wrapped. I probably have less than half a solo cup of rubble.

Man... I really need to finish up my plumbing so I can start aquascaping already.
