WOW. All I can say is your doing things right. Going slow and taking your time. Kudos. And keeping up with this build thread has been alot of fun. Can't wait for more to come.

Ha ha, I wish that was the only clutter I had in my living room! Finals in 2 weeks and I can start to assemble more on my tank too!

Good job on the manifold. Three is all you need. If you decide to run ozone you could get a DIY ozone reactor kit from avast marine and run it before the carbon reactor. If it was my tank I would do two part and kalk on the dosing reservoir. You don't really need to constantly dose mag. If you have a separate ato container I suggest running a line from a reservoir. Where are you making rodi water, in the garage?

Very nice build. I am really impressed by how clean the whole thing looks. I love the plumbing. I think I would have to call my plumbing kind of overly simple, not pretty but it works. Pipe goes out of tank into sump, hose goes out of return pump into tank.
I have always admired the clean look of all pvc plumbing with all the valves etc. And though I know there's a purpose for everything, have never understood. I see what I think you all are calling a manifold (cuz it looks like one  ) What does that do?

It's in case you want to add equipment that will need to be plumbed in instead of adding a new pump or having to modify plumbing later.

Thanks! I've made my fair share of mistakes in the past and this time, I told myself to take it slow and don't rush into things.

I'm having John from Your Reef quote me on a custom narrow/tall acrylic reservoir. It will have a separate pump to shoot water into the sump when the float valve is triggered. And yes, I will be making RODI in my garage. I was going to make it in my master bath tub but that idea was shot down :)

Thanks! If you do a search for a thread called "Pristine Plumbing" on reefcentral, you'll see a bunch of people with awesome setups. That thread was my inspiration and gave me a lot of ideas. My tanks in the past have always been made simple like how you described. Drain goes into sump and then a hose goes directly from the pump to the return pipe. Simple and Easy. I just wanted to experiment using hard plumb pvc this time around and it turned out half decent.

Tina described the purpose of the manifold perfectly. I didn't want too many pumps running my reactors so I "tee'd off" and built a manifold from my return. The more pumps you have in the tank, the more heat it generates and the higher the energy consumption. I want one pump to handle all my needs. Also, having the gate valves on the manifold will allow me to fine tune how much flow I want going into my reactors.

Nice containers for dosig J!!! Where did you get thise?

Bryan, it's a sweet looking container huh? I purchased the container from an international seller on eBay for $30. Shipping was free because I ordered a bunch of items from him. Surprisingly, it delivered from Hong Kong to my house within 7 days! Lmk if you need the info.

I have 2 20amp on my system.

Thanks loup. I am not sure if my outlet is made for a 15 or 20. If it happens to be 15, can I slap a 20 on it? The guy at Lowe's says I have to modify my breaker to handle a 20 but he didn't seem confident so I don't know what to get.

I made some minor changes to my plumbing. I moved the manifold inline because I noticed that when I had it the previous way, it wasn't as stable when I would turn the gate valves.

After I glued all of the pipes together, I realized that it didn't look as clean with my horrible glue job. So I pulled everything out and decided to use Krylon Fusion paint on the plumbing. Here's my attempt to be different using bright red paint. I chose red because my sump and skimmer is red.

Here are the results. What do you guys/gals think? Too bright???

My girlfriend thinks it looks like Mario Bros plumbing. Haha.

Lol. It would definitely go well with the Vertex Omega or BK.

Bryan, I decided to cancel the pre order for the omega 150. I'm waiting on the 200 instead. For now, I'll rock the SRO.
