Just got a new toy in! It's the Vertex Rx-U 1.5 reactor. My initial thoughts when opening the box was that they paid a lot of attention to the quality of their reactors. Even the box and packaging felt high end. It felt like I was opening an Apple iPad or iPhone. Haha.
In terms of build quality, this thing is solidly built. It feels much better than the BRS reactors I have. The only thing that I wasn't expecting was for the white parts to be off white.. borderline ivory. It's not a big deal. Overall, this reactor reactor feels really nice. The lid comes off much easier than the BRS ones and I think it's going to be easier to clean as well. I like it so much that I just ordered two more for GFO and Carbon.

Looking good. I foresee a new red and white skimmer in your future. I wouldn't doubt to see an alpha cone residing in that sump. Black acrylic is so outdated. Glenn

The display is looking awesome. I am glad you stuck with the powermodule. Classic but proven to work. If you really wanted the shimmer, the new pm is out with LED.

Thanks Glenn. Yea being that my tank is an open top, I want my lights to be a part of the showcase/display. The ATI Powermodule has the very sleek and slim profile. It's hard for me to give that up.

I bought it from another member here on reefcentral. He shipped it from another state and the frags came in heated and well packed.
The past two weeks I've been loading up on some nicer pieces to add to my collection. I think I am done with adding corals and it's time to sit back and let it grow.

Hahaha.. isn't that always the case? I'm swapping out a bunch of corals to make room.
I need to do some of that too, but I get too attached to my corals after watching them grow from wee frags. :uzi:

Well, I think it's also hard for you because all of your pieces are nice show pieces. I have a lot of browned out corals that I might just give away to someone here that might have better luck with them. Any takers?
