Total system lost

Thanks for the kind words, and sorry for all the others in the same boat. Not looking forward to critter removal, and cleaning it all up. Told that I won't get power to Monday morning at the earliest.

Sorry to hear about all of the losses and things aren't going to well on my end either. Had 8 fish die already, with a couple MIAs. All of the fish that are alive are plagued with ich and I'm expecting a total loss of fish. All coral is holding strong at the moment, but I don't have the means to set up a hospital tank until I get power/water back to treat the fish. Parameters are spiking in my tank with the deaths & MIAs (assuming they died within the rockwork, because I have an alage outbreak for the first time since the tank has been set up) and I have a community well with no power... so no water pressure to conduct water changes even when the generator is running. Assuming that my corals survive, I'd be more than happy to share some free frags with you guys that suffered total losses once my tank has stabilized. Best of luck to everyone who is still without power!

Definetly a sad week in CT with the power being out for nearly a week I am hopeing not too many of you get seriously impacted. As I see on this thread very sorry to hear and hope you don't quit the hobby

my reef tank is a loss as well my seahorses have survived. i may just turn my 58 g into a seahorse tank dont know if i can justify buying all new fish and corals.

I just spent all of today cleaning and redoing 2 tanks....still have others to get to but am about done in after all that AND cleaning out the fridge. We got our power back on around midnight last night.

I was blessed to have a mother in law 2 minutes down the road who lives in a senior housing complex with a generator. She didn't have power but the place was warm so I hauled as much as I could fit in 3-5gallon buckets (I don't have much much and mostly low end softies/leathers)....down to her place. I spent the past 4 days making water changes in those buckets and trying to keep other stuff alive that I have in other tanks.

I lost the pair of fancy clowns that I won at the last frag market raffle....I'm very sad about that....but.....so far that's ALL I've lost so I'm not going to complain. I'm so very sorry to hear of other's who've lost way more than I did from my puny tanks. Has anyone heard how things faired with Jon's tanks at the school ?

Sorry to hear about your losses, been there and it sucks. The last time i had this happen i went out and bought a generator and wired it into the house. And the main circuit is for the reefs and the koi.I actually forgot to wire for heat for us, was to worried about the fish. I hope everyone gets there power back soon. And if any one needs any frags when they are back up i would be glad to help.

I lost my whole tank as well 75 gallons, I am frustrated beyond belief, but if I built it once I can do it again it is just going to take time. No corals or fish until I have a 8000 watt genarator. You can't trust the electric companies to take care of you. Some times you have to take things into your own hands.

Very sorry to hear about your tanks. Very sad for you all. Might be time to have a session about how to prepare for these disasters and start a share listing where people who have generators and don't need them can lend them to those who do. Still might not work in such a disaster, but a step in the right direction
Good luck with the rebuilds. Will start fragging to help out
