It seems your comments are more in response to mine, I just want to point out that this is not about you and your experience with your nanos, but our response to Rich's initial tone and how he proceeded to try to solve the problem, a big problem we all agree, but how you approach it sometimes make a big difference in how you get taken care of.

I don't know about you but I happen to think if you expect people to willingly help you, then the first things I do would not include belittling and bad mouthing those who you seek help, at least not initially, which is exactly what Rich did, however he apparently changed his tone later and while still understandably upset, did not seem unreasonable and is willing to work things out.

I totally agree with you on this and that is how I approached my Tunze issues. I read Rich's post differently. I culled from it that he was exasperated from trying to remedy a very distressing problem and felt like he needed to "warn" other reefers about not getting new pumps when his crapped out. I didn't get a new pump either, but I did think it was strange that it was sent wothout the guard. My experience with Vortech, which has been long and hard, bore out the same response. They offered to replace anything that was defective but never really sent out a whole new pump/driver assembly. Unfortunately they have had to replace/repair every single pump component I have purchased. I feel for Rich because my own experience with PHs has been equally if not more dismal. I did not feel that he was attacking Roger though.

So it baffles me why you and Don kept coming here trying to pretend to speak justice on behalf of Rich when you never cared for Tunze product and never spent any big money like Rich on the products?

Actually I wanted to care for Tunze and serioiusly considered round-filing my Vortechs and switching to Tunze. That would result in tossing out $2500+ of Vortechs and buying a Tunze array capable of putting out 16,000+ gph.

Your above comments were full of conjecture but no substance. Try to at least dispute my above comment on the Chinese pump's apparent false claim and Don's use of it to make a very unprofessional statement. But you knew very well you could not defend him on that comment, did you?

I am indeed surprised members like you and Don, who I respect for your dedication and experience in this hobby, can sometimes be bent so out of shape and talk like a three year old! I am really disappointed to say the least.

Conjecture? I have no idea what Chinese pumps you are referring to. I was referring to mine. They are made in China and work well.

Bashing Rich is writing like a 3-year-old. Offering assistance would be the mature thing to do.

Hang in there Rich. You'll love your Tunze's as much as everybody else does as soon as they get you taken care of. I know its frustrating but it will be worth it. Until then, enjoy a picture of my 6100's running flawlessly on a 7095 in my way too packed full of SPS 90 gallon tank.

Then you should at least try to find out what pump we were referring to and why I questioned Ron's objectivity with his comment instead of going off tangent.

If I came out strong I apologize to both you and Ron. I hold no ill feeling for either of you. And I admire Rich's patience after spending over $1,000 and must try to repair the product, but most of us through our own experience dealing with Roger know he will be well cared for.

That is all we are trying to say.

WELL GUYS AND GALS
Me and Roger are working on getting new pumps.
It sure feels good when you can see some light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you Roger for backing me and all the members that have dealt with you and you have helped.
I really just want to sit back and enjoy my tank.
So to all you reefers God bless and have a great day.

Rich.

Thanks Cwegesclteide
Thanks for the great picture, its always good to see a real nice looking tank and man that is one nice tank.
I am going to copy it and dream that some day mine looks like that.
There are a lot of good people on RC and i am not going any where this is the place to get help and support, so again for all that help and felt what i was going thru God Bless.
And wish you and your tanks the best.

Rich

This is not a regular discussion forum.

I think this needs to be re-emphasized. From this point forward, only Rich or Roger should be in this conversation.

Kevin

I do not think that is fair to club members
and it look like thing have change not for the good i will let you all know whats happing when Rogers gets back to me.

Hey jdieck,

I had the same problem with my 6100's in the beginning. I had to send both of mine back over the course of 6 mos and then 1x more because I didn't keep up on cleaning the OLD STYLE magnets. Then the new impellers came out. Roger hooked me up with those and I haven't had ANY problems since. Maybe you have the old style impellers. I check mine ever couple months now and every time they are clean as a whistle.

Roger is a standup guy, one of the best I've dealt with. Let him have a chance to make it right. I'd be shocked if you were not treated fairly.
Thanks, I did not know there was a change in design, I'll look into it.

Had an issue with a 6200 - sent it to Roger a week ago on the 24th, as I was reading this thread just now, ups pulled up and delivered my unit with a BRAND new motor.

Roger and Tunze stand by their word, you will see

i guess seeing is believing.

Rich

Rich, thank you for informing us (the reef community) about your experiences about the Tunze products. I'm of the opinion that the Tunze forum is the proper way for a hobbyist to communicate their experience whether positive or negative.
Thank you again for letting us all know. Had you only communicated with Tunze via PMs the rest of us may not have found out about the die cast issue on the 6100.

Blasphemy!!!!! Not productive in and of itself but as an outside potential customer looking in, these types of threads and how they are handled make it or break it for me when I'm shopping for XYZ product.

Blasphemy!!!!! Not productive in and of itself but as an outside potential customer looking in, these types of threads and how they are handled make it or break it for me when I'm shopping for XYZ product.

This thread is most productive for future Tunze customers as it makes us all aware of issues on the Tunze products we're interested in.
I personally own 4 (yes 4) nanostream 6025s and I'm in the market to buy 4 more 6055s and a controller. That's an investement of more than 1000 dollars on Tunze powerheads/products. If I don't browse the Tunze forum and get opinions from others reefers... where do you recomment I look? At the Salifert forum or the general discussion forum. Tunze set up this forum for us, the customers...

What makes some of the comments on this thread inapropriate is everybody's opinions blasting Rich for stating his findings, his experiences and his demands. People post to adjudicate and mediate on how Tunze should or will handle the returns. That is for Tunze to decide and the customer to accept. Everyone else should sit back and enjoy the interchange of comments from the appropiate parties. Maybe you'll learn something about customer service, product issues and remedies, etc...
Thank you.

That I actually agree, like the moderators said best to limit the exchange to just Rich and Roger.

But in reality, as long as it is not a PM exchange, and in public view, you can not avoid people's comments. I happen to think I was the more critical of Rich, most everyone else simply tried to reassured Rich, based on their own experience that Roger would take care of the issue only if he gave him the opportunity.

But initially Rich did not allow time for Roger to respond, and I thought his tone was not productive. While I agree my comment to him was also a little rough but at least we have come to some mutual understanding.

No one, and I mean no one, said we should cover up any of these issues.
