I wasn't beating a dead horse I was replying to the comment by mwcahill, "BTW I never saw any posts or anything even talking about this new site, maybe i missed something."

Sounds good thanks for the update. What was the reason for going away from RC, I just moved back to AZ from Oregon and up there PNWMAS had there own forum which was very active so I am use to having to go to another website just wondering what the reasoning is for these clubs to use a different forum.

Lets all take a deep breath. I suspect that many of the AZ Frag sellers will post in both places, just as we do with PROP auctions. Some folks do not have access to RC so, if you want to see all of the potential sales, I'd at least check out both sites. Assuming login issues can be resolved easily, it's really not that big of a deal.

One of the biggest reasons for a separate site is that you don't have to abide by RC's terms of service. I don't mind RC rules, but I'm a complete wimp and will go along with just about any rules so long as they don't require that I become Bill Gate's towel boy. Others don't feel the same and prefer a 'less moderated' site.

I just want to make it clear I don't have a problem with it I am just curious about why clubs tend to shy away from RC, I defiantly understand the idea of having "less moderation"

There's also the idea of branding the club so that it's more visible as a separate organization. The end goal is to promote the club and hopefully promote the hobby locally.

How about we list what we have available.

I have a Reeflo Hammerhead pump, New Bearings and seals $200.00

Coralife 1100p New bearings $100

To clear the air here; this doesn't need to be a heated discussion.

In a nutshell, that's the biggest appeal. It's not at all about any financial gain for the club's sake; if anything having our own forum costs the club a small amount. The ability to self-moderate has the best interests of the club in mind.

And this is the other big appeal: consolidation. To be the most cohesive club possible, it only makes sense to have one location where everyone has an equal opportunity.

Also, I think most are aware of this at this point, but for those who are not: AZ FRAG now operates under a Board of Directors (since Jan 2013) - a panel of five people. All decisions about the club and the club's direction are voted upon by the board and decided by a simple majority.

Can we please keep this thread for people that aren't going to use the other site for what ever reason .. And just let us list our stuff we want to trade or sell PLEASE !!

I already do not go to the auctions anymore because I disagree with the new rules of having to pay the club to be able to sell corals, that I bought and grew with NO Help from the club

Can we please trade a few frags now ???

I just read the PROP rules from what I remember 4-5 years back I did not remember 10% going to PROP when did this change.

PROP is a separate entity from FRAG.

In the 5 years I've been around, that's always been the way PROP operates. My understanding is that's the way it's always been too, but I could be mistaken.

As for how they are used:
Fees are reinvested for coral purchases or donated to AZ FRAG for special events. At no time do the PROP farmers receive money from the sale of PROP corals. ALL expenses incurred by the farmers as a result of caring for the PROP corals are absorbed by each farmer.

This has always been part of PROP. It goes to bring new PROP coral into the valley so everyone can buy them at a 1/3 of the price they sell for everywhere else.
