Very unhappy with the nano-stream 6025's

Those of you who have no problem with yours... did you get yours in the first batch to come out?

Mine is broken, shaft wont go into the little hole & just wiggles around, I've talked with Roger & will be sending mine to him after the holidays to replace something.

Personally I dont see why this is such a huge suprise to some... they were the first ones out & rushed due to the masses beating down doors to get them. One can only expect a few recall's, it happens... lucky for us they have great customer service :)

We really didn't rush them this is just the difference between a dozen prototypes used by people with a lot of experience in more controlled settings and producing thousands, subjecting them to the rigors of shipping and putting them in the hands of the masses. These same problems happen even with cars bult by huge companies who have done hundreds of thousands of miles of road tests, you just don't know everything that can happen until a couple thousand customers use it.

Just a question Roger,
How many of the Tunze nanostreams 6025 do you think are in use right now in the US and about how many have the noise issue? I bet people are just more likely to speak up when there's a problem and that's why it seems more prevalent than it actually is. I'm still waiting on the 6045s. Can't wait.

With the shipment I have coming in next week we will have over 1000 in the US, you are correct that it is a very small number that have had problems and with the production starting in January the problems will be permanently solved, for now they have hand fitted the pumps we are recieving and that should eliminate most of the issues.

Come on, Rog, no magic wand? Can't you wave that magic wand and send me a free one??? :)

Everyone should have a magic wand nowadays. That is, in fact, how I get so much growth from my corals..... :D

They will likely ship them to me then so it would take another 2 weeks for the dealers to have them.

That is normal and part of how they correct there rotation direction.

So with that said, are these safe to use with a wavemaker (i.e. Reef Keeper 2)?

As long as you stick to at least 15 minutes between off and on cycles, the longer the better for pump life but at 15 minutes they should last at least a few years.

I have found with my 6025's if you pull them apart every months or so and wipe down the manet and the hole that holds the impeller they seem to work much better.

It is a very easy process and takes about 5 mins to do both of mine. Before I started doing this the pumps sometimes took 5 or 6 min to startup, but after I clean them they start instantly.

Well, I ordered some from MD as well, and they are supposed to arrive today. I am fully confident that, should there be a problem, Roger will more than take care of it.

Nothing but good things to say about this company.

BTW, when will the 6045's be available at places like Marine Depot? I want to use a 45 as my main flow, with a 25 on the opposite end facing the 45 w/ a 15min on-off cycle.

Sorry, can you please clarify?

So if I have it on for 15 min, off for 15min, then it only starts once every half hour. Is this the min, or can I do 7.5min on and 7.5 off so it only starts once every 15 min?

thanks...

It should run for 15minutes, it can be turned off for as little as 30 sec but the run time should be at least 15minutes when on.
