vho's over a 240

ok simple question. i tried to serch but it doesnt work.

sooo...

i have 8 vho's over a 240 they are 72 inches so 160 watts each allmost 1300 watts total. is this enough to pretty much keep most corals and clams?

most people on here would say no. ~5w/g Is lower then most tanks and keepers of clams and light loving corals aim for 8+.

Yes, but vho doesnt have the penetrating power of mh and t5, so high light sps and clams would prob need to be kept up high. They may not color up quite as nice either.

IMO they are fine. Just place light loving critters higher up on the rock work and closer to the lights. Reserve the bottom of the tank for less light dependant creatures.

I think you will be fine. If you plan on keeping acrapora or other high-light demanding SPS just put them close to or at the top of our rockwork. Other than that, the lighting sounds good and I think you will be quite satisfied at how it turns out. Good luck.
