Hi,

I have a 75gal DT and am thinking to change my constant flow in the tank into some kind of wave maker, so far I am set on Mp40, but its kind of pricey.
please help decide and post your suggestions as to whats the best to the $.
Thanks..

I love my MP10 but there isn't much of a wave in my cube tank. I think it would probably work better in a longer tank. My SPS love the Reef Crest mode though.

Is that 4' x 18" x 24? What do you have now for flow? Are you going to stay with a mixed tank do you think?

You can pulse a vortec and get the same effect as using a wavebox and you can place a vortec in a lot of places that you can't a wavebox. Either way big improvement over MJs.

another Vortech fan here....
upside: no heat transfer inside tank, small footprint inside tank, great customer service IME
downside: non directional

im using two tunze 6105s on the 7095 multicontroller, doing great but i know i will need more flow down the road so im thinking about adding a tunze wavebox but im not sure yet. the tank is a standard 180.

I have two Tunze 6105's also with a 7095 in my 5' 120 and they are awesome. I have them turned down to 40-60% otherwise I get crazy flow, and they have the best customer service I have ever seen!

Two Tunze 6055's controlled by my profilux. Looking inti adding a wavyseas with another 6055 just to really shake things up....

The 6055's do plenty as it sits, but I wanna shake things up some more. LOL

Right now just using a Red Sea Wavemaker Pro, and not too shabby so far.. Thinking of eventually going vortech but it's out of the budget right now.... My RKL has a wave maker setting while nothing like the MPs it's something to explore.

Thanks alot for the Info. I see there is alot Tunze owners which will open
On more options on choosing between Tunze and Mp. Now it comes down to price difference if any.

Thanks alot for your input.

I'm looking to get two mp40's for my 180 (standard), I'm currently running 3 Koralia Evo's (using my APex as the wavemaker) and one older Koralia 4, which has served me well, but looking for more flow, less stuff in the tank.

the Evo's are a great bang for your buck if the Tunze or Vortech is too pricey.

Bart,
MP40 or Tunze, they all good. Tunze you can turn the head anywhere you want. The MP40, I think you only place it on the side tank. I have and love them both.
