Well I did it!!!

So I am looking at having the tank made by SoCal Creations. Here are the two drawing I sent them, which to you like?

I will be using the Dart for the closed loop.

I may be way off base and I dont have anything to back it up, however my gut tells me you will have less problems with a single drain to the pump then you will trying to get the flow from two drains to merge into one intake on a CL pump.....
Roger..

no idea. but having a bulkhead in teh bottom of the tank gives me the hebbie geebies! i'll NEVER do that. i would rather have it in the back of the tank. just my oppinion

That sketch is of the back of the tank, with the overflow being external. The bulkhead would be in the bottom of the external overflow box.

I don't think there are any holes in the bottom of that tank.

Roger, yeah after talking with the SoCal Creations we decided on the single 2" drain.

Lunch, no bulkheads will be in the bottom, that was an original thought but has been since changed...btw, my OM 4 Way is on the way!!!

Ewan, you are correct.

Mike...I am getting my tank from Precision Clarity in GA. Have you looked into their tanks? A friend of mine got one from them a few weeks ago...I was so impressed with the workmanship that I ordered mine a few days later.

I stepped out of this thread for a couple of days and all sorts of things have happened. Sorry about the tank, that is a real bummer. Is the new tank going to be glass or acrilic?

You may want to think about having 2, 1.5" drains in the external overflow box, this way if a snail gets stuck in one, the other will take the flow and not cause a flood.

Good Idea Wiskey. I actual planned on putting a 1" drain as a back-up.

Rendos...do you have a web address for them?

Mike

Thanks for the info. I have sent them a request on price. I really would like to stick with Randy at SoCal because he has been very nice and helped a lot!
