Yup that is a big ol bull red! He weighed just over 30 pounds, I didn't actually measure him because I needed to get him back in the water, took too long to get the hook out. Took me about 15 minutes to get him in then spent another 10 hanging over the side of the boat trying to revive him, which I did and he was fine. Caught him with some blue crab at a spot I like where these bulls run, for some reason I've found they like it at exactly 40' of water. The guy who's boat I was on caught a big one also just shy of mine
Those bull reds here in texas run every year. Best time is mid to late summer. They usually range from 36-50+ inches. Most common are from 40-46"
They like cut mullet and we catch them right off the beach on bigger reals with clickers. Just wade up to ur chest, cast it out, come in and stick the rod in the holder and wait.
Adult beverages during waiting time is what makes it fun.
