What have you done with your tank lately?

How long have you had the RA? I'm planning to get one for the new setup, just curious how you like yours.

Ive had it for a week or so but I've only really messed with custom codes for the past day while I've been off work sick and it is awesome. It comes per programmed with the basics so you can run it without even plugging into a computer. If you have any computer experience the program wizard makes it easy to customize the programming and then I added to that with custom code.

I would suggest looking at one up and running and getting a feel for the programing before you jump in. I do like mine but I'm sure it's not for everyone. Let me know if you want to check it out sometime.

I do IT support for a living so it sounds right up my alley. Would definitely like to check it out some time, I'll be off the entire week after Christmas.

I'm hoping to have some time after Christmas off as well but I've taken this whole week off sick so I might have to reschedule some vacation. I'll let you know as soon as I know when I'm off.

Good the tank is in the wall and drywalled. I'm thinking he might do a build thread. We were rolling along well until I got sick but as far as I know he is still truckin on it.

So who all has switched or is switching from LED back to MH or T5s?

There are more right?

Damn, you guys don't mess around. It sure be nice to see some pictures... :uhoh3:

What LEDs did you have and why are you going back?

I had 24 3w LEDs per 2 foot section on 2 sides of my 220. The center still had a 250w radium MH. Theses were DIY lights and I believe are good lights. I just had so many issues over the summer with my acros I want to go back to where I had great growth. I could see weekly growth with metal halide. Once I switched I saw no growth. I think if I had used 48 per 2 foot section like originally planned I would have been fine. Maybe 24 LEDs would have been fine with no other issues. All my issues may have been related to my tank overheat and very slow recovery but I don't know. I changed lights and salt mix at the same time then overheated. I don't know 100% that all my issues were heat related so I am starting over. I am going to place all 60 of my LEDs over a 40 breeder and will see how the growth is. Then I will decide if I want to switch. I also went back to reef crystals salt since it was what I was using before the issues. I enjoy giving corals to the CDP and I can't do that if they don't grow! I gave a lot until I made the changes because I could without noticing the cuts in my tank. Hopefully I get there again.

Right now that 40 breeder has 12 3w LEDs and a 250w 20k metal halide. I can see growth so my system is doing much better.

LOL looks like I'm in the right place then. I went to LEDs back in May and now I'm looking to add some. Y'all PM me if you're lookin' to trade for frags or even sell cheap!!

What color are tou looking to add? I have some spare LEDs and a few drivers.

Well I'm doing a 5-6(3w) LED build for my work nano, and I'm looking for a fixture from 72w - 165w for my home tank. For the work one I'd need a driver and 2-3 blue/royal blue and 3 white/warm white. For my home tank it would have to be prebuilt. I doubt anybody has about 30 LEDs plus drivers and heatsink "just lying around".

I have dimable nano drivers with potentiometers that will do between 3 and 10 LEDs. I also have some 5w cool whites.
