I can't list just one but if I had to. . . It'd be queen anglefish

The dwarf angels have a bad reputation for being nippers of coral, don't they? My lemon butterfly already has that honor in my tank, and may soon loose it's position, sentenced to the refugium. Any thoughts on the advantages/disadvantages of dwarf vs. full size angels in tanks with some corals and LR?

Take a look on
themarinecenter.com
for these following fish and tell me if they are not the most beautiful angels(or fish) you have ever seen!!!
Pomocanthus Chrysurus
Aploemichthys Xanthopunctatus
Chaetodontoplus Conspicillatus

My Dream of having them all in an angel tank!! ohhh:p

Sixpackrt, what are those beauties? What do they bother? How long have you had them? Thanks petedoc

turk,, the chrysurus is spectacular, can't locate the xanthopunctatus, and the cnspicillatus is nice, but the photo may not be the best. Thanks for the diverse ideas.

Quazi, nice angel, but my favorite is still the grouping at "The Birth of Venus" by Giotti, I will look for a link. petedoc

My favorite is the Clarion Angel, although its definitely hard to obtain one here.....and they're not cheap :(

Clarion angels are ilegal to collect in most of their range. This doesn't stiop them from popping up once in a while and they typically go for $1500 plus. Scientific name is Holocanthus clarionensis . My rare fish fiend friend, Tom over at www.marineaquatics.us is prolly your best bet for getting ahold of one if there is one to be had. He has had a clarion/passer hybrid. I have a pic but if is film, not digital.

I tried fishbase re:clarion angels, it is listed and a black and white sketch is shown, but I can't find a real photo. I'll keep looking.

The Passer angel (king angel), holocanthus passer, is one of the best looking, and apparently hardiest of angels. Great pictures at the www.themarinecenter.com They have a great catalog of angels. I must point out that petsolutions.com also has a great selection, and currently free shipping on orders over 175$, and that is my incentive for this angel discussion and decission process at this time. petedoc

PeteDoc,
The Clarion angel looks very similar to the Passer angel. Whereas the Passer has brown/golden/orange base coloration, the Clarion has the same blue highlighted coloration but on a vivid orange/red base color! Great fish and it's amazing that at one time Clarions/BlueSpots/Cross-Hatches were common AND relatively cheap...
But the 2 most awesome angels IMO are the Conspicuous Angel and the Blue Line Angel (C. Septentrionalis)
