What size pump?

Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased a slightly used(18 months) Miracles 240g rimless, cube aquarium. The dims are 48 x 48 x 24. I intend to use my Mag 18 for the return, but it is also drilled for a CL. I have no experience with a CL, but since its drilled for it I'll try it. I understand it needs a separate pump. I've been looking at the Reeflo super dart-snapper gold as well as the hammerhead/barracuda hybrid gold. Would either of these work? What pump would you suggest?
I appreciate your help and thank you in advance for your time.

Respectfully,

Yeah how many holes?

Although for my money I would go with any one of the numerous DC pumps out there, hook them up to a controller and you could change the output of the flow from your CL.

I'm wrestling with a similar dilemma, in that I have 5 holes in an acrylic tank for a closed loop on the bottom, but I'm not sure I want to use them.

Most of the DC pumps I've found are internal only which I could use to replace my mag 18. The only external DC pump I've been able to find is the Waveline. The Waveline DC 1200 has a max flow rate of 3170. The super dart-snapper is 4,300 and the HH and barracuda are 4290 and 6000. Are there any dc external pumps that pack that kind of punch? Or is it overkill?
