Still considering skimmer options for 125g. mixed reef. I had decided on th DOC 9010 (with mods to convert to "collection hose" instead of supplied collection cup), or DOC 9015 (which includes larger collection cup/reaction chamber), but could not make up my mind. Then I ran across the REEFPACK 500, and wonder if this would be a better choice? I plan to keep a mixture of hard/soft corals/clams etc. Is anyone running any of these? Please advise.

The Reefpack is for in tank use, it is a 9005 skimmer, a 3166 filter with a 1600/2 Turbelle pump and an Osmolator all built in. It provides about 400gph of flow. The filter is delivered with mechanical filter cartridges that filter down almost to the level of a diatom filter. With optional cartridges you can run carbon or phosphate removers. If you won't have many fish this would be a great solution as it is essentially like getting the osmolator free.

BodiBuilt,
I had/ran two 1st generation Reefpacks (only difference is the skimmer) since they were first introduced and really liked them. They skim well, filter well and the with the Osmolator, the water level stays dead-on perfect. IMO the RP is one of the best values for complete filtration (for a sumpless tank) on the market. My guess is people don't know much about the Reefpack so there's not alot of "buzz".

I recently sold one of the two that I had but have a pic that shows both and how compact they are:

The one in the background (covered in coralline) is on a 105g and next to it is a Turbelle 7400.
