What's the soonest you've had an established breeding pair spawn?

I bought an established breeding pair of snowflakes that are huge. They've laid eggs before. I have them in a ten gallon tank with a tile and 2 pieces of established live rock and a big Aqua clear filter filled with old rubble rock from another system and a bag of gfo. I feed 5-6 times a day and siphon the uneaten food out every night. I know they'll spawn when they're ready and It may even never happen but my question is, how soon have you had a breeding pair that was already laying spawn after being moved to a different tank? I've had clowns soawn before and Im already seeing similar behavior with these. The male keeps nudging her abdomen and shimmying in front of her and he also began cleaning off a patch of the underside of the tile but that doesn't guarantee anything. So how long did it take for your breeding pairs to spawn after being moved? Thanks!

I would feed only what they can eat. No lelfover. Feed them 2 to 3 times a day is enought. IME you really need dry food. Frozen food only as supplement but not really needed. Good dry food pack more calories than frozen food which is mostly water. I got the best babies with just dry food.

I'm only feeding Thera A pellets and I do only feed what they eat in one sitting but they always end up missing a few pellets which I just siphon out to maintain water quality. This isn't the first time I've bred clowns but when I started with juvenilles it took almost 2 years to get a spawn. I'm hoping it will be much quicker starting with a huge pair that was already spawning?

Just because they spawned in another tank dont mean they will spawn again after being moved. Ive seen a few people buy breeding pairs before and they never once spawned again after they received them. Just something to keep in mind.

You need to feed them well and maybe get some hormones into the water. I did that by adding a few dottyback pairs to my clownfish broodstock system. Dottybacks may spawn as early as 2 weeks when you get adult males and females, with two juveniles or females it may take a bit longer, but as soon as they figured out who is who they can't control themselves - they are like rabbits in that regard :D

I switched a pair and pair the male with another male. They spawn about 2 months later. Mature pair will spawn really fast if you keep them in good shape.
These were wild caught that have been in captivity for several years. The system have various spawning fishes in it. Orchid Dottyback, Royal Gramma, Flame Angels and Madarin all spawn fairly regular. I am not sure if this have anything to to with it. Well feed healthy tank but I only feed the tank once a day.

From experience and every clowns can act a little diff from one another that said... If you can get them to be comfortable by making them feel safe in their environment With a flower pot or something along with 10+ hrs of daylight n great feeding this should and will induce them to spawn faster... WP should be good and temp at 80-84. I had a spawning pair that travel from CA to MN and spawn 2 weeks later. So it can be done. Good luck
