Who here collect's there own fish

the season has been great so far. I have been catching everything from short bigeye's, snowy groupers, lionfish, piolit fish, ect ect. how has everyone else been doing with the collecting?

normal stuff for here. atlantic tangs, butterflies, damsels, and angels.

plenty of beautiful beaches were i live so i think ill have to give it a go this summer!! :thumbsup:

I am doing easy collecting now since im geting a lot of stuff. If you wish to join up i will be going this weekend as well as every weekend. Let me know when it's good for you and il check the tide time's and we will meet up.

Many juvinile fishes have settled on our reefs here. Tons of juvi bicolor anthias, heniochus, misc. butterfly, yellows, nasos, wrasses, the works pretty much.

i have been snorkling at Forster/Tuncurry area and remember seeing lots of nice fish only about 10 metres from shore! But that was b4 i got into reefing.

I finally got some pompano to survive the collection trip!!! I am so happy! I have been trying to get these guys for a while

they are in a 30 for now. I am trying to keep 3 to see how they well they do. if they dont go belly up in the next few days I have an empty 55 that I am going to convert into a surge tank. My camera is on the outs, but I am going to see if I can get some pics with my camera. all in all I still lost a lot of fish, but I can tell the vigorous water movement at all times is a must. I lost 2/3 of my fish while they were still in the collection bucket. I am going to play with some battery operated pumps to see if I can bring that number down some.
