Who's using Coralvue Reeflux on their SPS tanks?

The PAR loss on most 12k and 14k is not worth it IMO. The regular coralvue 10k is bluer (and a little pinker) than the XM and a big improvement to my eye. The CV reeflux is a little bluer still so it sounds like a good bet for you. These are on m58 ballasts.

Here's mine...

Here's mine...

Been burning for 10days.

I love the bulb! No actinincs, just the 250DE on an IC.

I loved P14's, but I'm very happy after the switch and corals look better in my opinion.

Looks great! what ballasts are you using for the reeflux? how is growth?

I`m using IceCaps 250W ballasts, too early to tell the growth. Only had them for a couple of weeks it`s why I left the XM in the middle, I`ll compare the two in the near future.

Paul.

I have been running the Reeflux 250w SEs 10ks for over 3 weeks.

I have only used Ushio 10k,XM 10k in the past.

The reeflux 10k have a nice hint of blue. I love them. I'm running them on a Mag ballast.

We've been running a pair of the Reeflux 250W 10,000Ks in Luminarc reflectors off older CV eBallasts for a couple of months now. They look great! We also supplement with 440W of URI VHO Actinic but many run the bulb without actinics.

Compare

Compare

Although my camera skills are lacking and I have alot of light bleeding through from my pendent...here's my attempt at a comparision. As for colors, my corals are recovering from a severe lighening event after going BB....but things are getting much better day by day.

Anyway, all photos are photoshopped in the same way by using "auto levels" to try and remove some of the blue.

The side view is my favorite, but I don't have a P14 comparision.

Overall, it's a give and take. The P14's make the greens and blue "pop", but the yellows, reds, oranges...seem faded. I like the overall look of the CVR10 better.

There is a guy on ebay called marine madness, he sells them. Be prepared to wait for them though. Shipping out of the new orleans area is atrocious right now. I only live 40 miles from him and it took 7 days to get my bulbs shipped priority mail.

I chucked my 20K XMs for the coralvue 10ks and I think the color in my tank is better plus the brightness of the tank is way better. I have only had them up about a week so too early to speak about the impact on growth.

I run a SE 400 watt 10K Reeflux in the middle of two SE 250 20K Coralvues driven by a PFO HQI ballast. The 400 watt bulb is driven by a Blueline E-ballast.

I also run 4 VHO's 110Watt bulbs, 3 Actinic, one AquaSun.

My tank is 48"x30"x24"tall with the halides sandwiched together.

Here's a few pics from last month

You can see the bluer light best on the far left side.

Holy smokes! How big is that clam to the right!:eek1:

I've been using the 250 watt 15k XM for a little while now, seems like a perfect upgrade. The 10k coralvue had too much pink in it for me, made my coralline algae stand out too much. The 15K makes the corals stand out and gives the tank a more "reef look" and it is just as bright as the coralvue 10k.

Acording to Sanjay's lighting site the CoralVue Reeflux is almost 2x as "bright" as the 15k XM on all the ballast types.

Coolfishy you have pix of the 15K ?

I have 10K XM 400W and supplements them with 4X80W T5 of Deltec, 2 of them are Pure Actinics and 2 are Actinics Plus .

The intesity of the XM is superior to any lamp I have ever tried , but with the Deltecs it becomes perfect, I was running it for months with the XM alone, and only later added the T5, Huge difference!

I have to change my MH pretty soon and wanted to try the 15K, but not sure yet.

Yeah, that Clam Kix a$$.....true beauty!
