Who's using Coralvue Reeflux on their SPS tanks?

guys, i just installed my 175W 10K reflux bulbs and they appear yellow right now, bare in mind they have only been on about 5 minutes. Is it normal for them to look yellow in there very early stage?

Which ballast are you running? We have the 250W 10,000K Reeflux bulbs on the CoralVue eBallasts and there isn't a hint of any yellow. - Doug

I just put in a new 10K De 250 Reeflux, only been running an hour but it looks pinkish, this is on a evc electronic ballast, does the pink go away during burn in?

Here is the Reeflux 12k (left) Reeflux 10k (center) and Radium 20k (right)
All SE, on PFO HQI in LAIII's. 320 watts of VHO also. Hard to get a good picture, setting white balance with 3 different k bulbs is a nightmare.

Mine runs on an IC....the pink and purple went away after a week or two.

coolfishy......the CV 10K or the CV ReefLux 10K......i can't imagine how the XM 15K is brighter. My 12K's on both first mag ballasts and now e-ballasts are brighter than XM 15K's, so the 10K's have to be brighter.

I'm sorry, I have the original CV 10K. I thought they were the same bulb. Those pics look different from my tank, maybe I got a pair of bad bulbs? The CV's are too pink...?

Has anyone had issues with the 400w reeflux 12K SE bulbs firing on standard M59 mag ballasts? I ordered one along with a 250w 12K and although there was no problem with the 250w, the 400w did not fire at all. I just received a replacement and it will not fire either. Is this a known issue or am I just unlucky enough to get 2 bad bulbs?

Jeff

I have 5 Reeflux 400w SE 12k's and they all work fine on my M59 ballasts. I had XM 20k's before these bulbs and they look just about the same color wise. I think next time I'll go with the 10k's. I even turn my actinics off during the day so it's less blue.

I've been running the DE 12K's on HQI ballasts and I am really happy with the color and brightness. They are more white than the Phoenix 14K I was running, but are visually brighter and more natural looking. They look like they put out some good PAR on a HQI Ballast.

I am running the 10K 250 Watt Reeflux with two actinic VHO's and an aquablue T5. I must say that these bulbs really bring out the blue tones in my corals. The reds and pinks aren't as intense as before, but it isn't too much of a difference. I am very impressed so far and look forward to seeing how they all color up in the comming months. I think if I didn't have all the actinic supplementation I have now I would try the 12 K's. BTW I was running both Ushios and XM 10K's before.

falconut - Personally, I like the color of the Coralvue 10K bulbs more than the XM 10K's. Of course this is a purely subjective opinion. I just like them because they make the blues and greens pop even more. BTW I have a PFO HQI Dual ballast, it is the same as yours.

Here is a picture of my tank with the Coralvue's.

i've been running the reeflux 10k 400w on hqi for about a year now and very satisfied with the color and growth.

i needed to replace my DE 150w phoenix 14k bulb so i got a 10k reeflux since i liked the SE variety. wow... the 150 DE bulb is incredibly bright visually, almost as bright as the XM 10k 150 DE I have.

Sanjay said he would be testing the 150w DE reeflux 10k one of these days.

I am running CVReeflux 12K 400W se on Maxibright Magnetic HPS ballasts and Maxigrow reflectors . I thought they were too blue at first but now they have burnt in there is a bit more white. I used to run 10K BLV and these were way brighter but also very yellow after 6 months . Im sure they have a lot less intensety so much so that I have noticed the blue tips on my A.Valida just fading slightly . I have seen Radium 20Ks and I think these look brighter than the CVR 12 , anyone tested these bulbs yet ? I think I should have tryed CVR 10Ks instead going by the feedback on here . Cool thread people
