Why Don't They Force You To Pick A Location

Common sense says this was the main point of the OP.
"It is annoying when someone has something to sell and does not have a location listed. It takes some time to figure out that they are 100 miles away."

Common sense says if you're going to list something for sale then giving potential buyers an idea of location would be a novel idea. If the seller doesn't want to put a location in their profile then at the very least they should mention it in the thread. Providing it to someone via PM does not make them any more safe than if they had provided it to begin with.

Honestly, putting location in your profile really doesn't help stalkers at all. Go ahead, search Monroe county clerk online records for every Mel in Irondequoit. I'll see ya in a couple years after you've knocked on a few doors. lol  Now if I was "stupid" enough to put my street address you would have to wonder if it was a dare... ;)

Lol I'm not saying a stalker could actually find you if you put down your location. I'm just saying that some people don't feel comfortable with it. That's all.

That wasn't directed at you personally, but if someone is looking to make sales then their location becomes necessary. I think those are the ones the OP was venting about. People who never sell anything can remain anonymous without complaint as far as I'm concerned. Which is why making it mandatory in profiles wouldn't work. :) It's the lack of common sense and courtesy to others that "anonymous" sellers have which hits a nerve every so often. lol

I just want to make it mandatory. I am the NYC Mayor Boomberg of this thread. No drinks over 32oz! (as I drink a Venti Carmel Frappuccino). :lmao:

Hey! You better get in the car and redistribute some-o-that Venti CF or ur getting voted out next election mister!!! lmao

We don't need more rules and intrusion, imo. There's enough folks telling other folks what to do and not do . What happened to the idea of freedom anyway. I just ignore folks who are selling stuff and choose not to tell me where they are and those that wont answer reasonable questions . My choice and theirs. Each his own.

According to Cocteau's plan, I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal?- Dennis Leary-Demolition Man
