It's no fun placing that stress on someone else, no! Sounds like your wife does love you.

I actually had a power outtage recently and was able to test my 1800 watt generator. My power was out the day
after the recent Norman wind storm. They must have been refiring up some grids, which took us offline. I think is was off at 9am and out until about 4pm. I was home so I kicked on my 1800 watt generator, which ran my refrigerator, AC, and a power head (at the surface of my tank). I had a battery operated air pump to help.
My indoor temperature was rising dramatically throughout the day and actually bumped up to 83*F! I unplugged the fridge for a while, thinking it was sucking power, but my AC was blowing air...it just wasn't cool enough!
Outside temp was well into the 90*s. Fortunately, the tank was fine and my temp calculations had it hanging at 78-79*F so that was nice.
After the power came back on, the house immediately cooled down. I have an older gas furnace (15years). I didn't think it would need that kind of wattage. Or am I missing something? Yes, I should have bought a higher wattage generator. It was all I could reasonably find heading into the epic ice storm we had. :headwallblue:
Chris, keep your cool and keep that tank cool. Let me know if you need anything.
