Wish me luck

What a beaut! Good luck on the fish!

Lately I found angels and butterflies really like mussels but mostly just the soft part that is the white part covering the inside. But the tougher chewy rim can be minced for wrasses as they don't really mind it.

Congrats Mark. I thought I was looking at DD pics. Try blackworms if you have a slow start but sounds like you got a handle on it.

ditto goodluck with her

Thanks for the tip. I will be picking up blackworms, enriched brine shrimp and clams on the half shell after work today. "Sorry dear, you have to eat top ramen as I just spent our dinner money on a fish that might not eat"

Just a quick update. She likes live worms :) I'll take some pictures once my computer gets back online.

Awesome little one! I have never seen on that small in person...if/when I do it will be coming home with me :)

Great you got her eating something!

Another thing my two yellow bellied regals love is red nori on a clip. I happen to use ocean nutrition brand.

Great find Mark. You are going to love the regal. They add soooo much beauty to the reef. Best of luck to the little girl. Cant wait to see more pictures.

It's been one week now and all of her temperments are positive. If the qt and acclimation process do not fair well due to the jocs aggression, I may be setting up a small coldwater system if all else fails :)

You said you got yours at exotic? I got mine from there 2 days ago. I think ours are twins :)

Actually the jocs are and will always be in my display (unless I get a pair of nahacky or peppermints). There is nothing wrong keeping this fish in a llittle cooler water with maybe a couple of other of fish that are of interest to me. I have thought about a conspic or bandit on more than one occasion, but I have not convinced myself that it would be ethically correct. I am no saying that I might not convince myself in the future, but as of today, they are safe :p

I figured today was as good as any to let the regal out of QT and acclimation. The lights are out on the tank as the jocs wasted no time saying hello to their new tank mate :(

Here is a shot from earlier on when she was eating some PE mysis in the acclimation box

Did the jocs just say hello, or were they telling her that she better stay away?
I know when I added my first joc, my regal and my purple tang wanted to tear it apart, but luckily she found a cave that was right for her but the other 2 couldn't get in.
It's always scary , you never know who is going to be ****ed off.

No, they were definitely running it through the ringer. They are the most aggressive fish in my tank. They even going after the borbonius and mystery from time to time. They are twice the size as the regal.

beautiful baby girl you have there. She has her work cut out for her against those jocs.
Just roid her up and she be good to go.
