not sure if i missed it, at the beginning you mentioned one of the smaller tanks will be octopus and one will be sea horses? is this still the plan? have you figured out exactly what your keeping in them?
The 2 overflows from the main tank are 2, 1 1/2" bulkheads per box that is plumbed to a 3" drain. There is one box on each satellite tank & the fuge. Each of those overflow's has 2, 1" bulkheads (that goes to the same 3" main). There are two penetrations through the safety pan &/or floor. The 3" main drain goes to the sump (via 3, 7" Berlin bags)
My wife was inspired to 'paint' the family room, her goal = the ceiling
(She has enough art work to do it) (Never stand on the top of a ladder, it's unsafe)
The fish tank guys just left. He said tomorrow we will test the system & run fresh water!!!!
Wednesday, saltwater & scaping!
At the top of that 3" drain line you should have a vent line. With a fall that much you will get trapped air trying to go back up the pipe and a big bubble will block your top inlet (to the 3") and the overflow will stop working. All you need is a small line run from the top of the drain line to above the water height of the uppermost tank.
That is some major progress. That is a tall ladder for her to be on top and no support. where are the safety straps? Just kidding, glad she didn't fall or ladder give way.
Mark,
main pump = Tiger Shark 1.5 hp
(I have a spare plumbed up & ready to go for when it fails . . . )
My wife is fine, we have a taller (2 story extension) ladder.
My father-in-law gave it to me because we eloped . . .
(It was my dream wedding drive-thru in Vegas, jeans & a tee shirt, I didn't say 'I do', I said 'absa-f&^@ing-lutly'
