Would you purchase a $4000 dollar fish?

Depends, does it frag my corals? Does it do water changes? Does it add supplements? Does it feed the tank? Can I teach it tricks?

as John Travolta once said I]"A $5 shake? That's milk & ice cream right? They don't put any burbon in it or nothin?"[/I]

I'd like to see a picture of a $4000 fish....

I have an LFS that is selling them for that price.

Whoa, really? I see you're in SoCal...mind letting us know which LFS? I'd love to see one in person!

By the way, I've heard they normally go for about $10k...must be cuz of the bad economy. ;) (It's like when I saw the Z8 at the BMW dealership that was $50k off the normal price).

Wholesale they go for 2-2500. Mark, what store locally?

I heard that some guy in Japan has an actual spawning pair of these guys.

4 grand is a decent deal, but I'm wondering which store locally can afford even the wholesale price.

PR,

Victor is willing to ship them in if he can find 20 buyers, and you know Victor. He loves to beat prices on any fish. I went to his shop today and got a great deal on a Golden Pygmy, but not as good as your deal.:D

Why in the hell would there be a market that high on a fish in the first place and still be legal to catch them?

I wouldn't see paying $4000. But that's because I'm too poor and there's no way I would have the means of taking care of it unless it was a super easy fish, but with that $tag I doubt it is an easy fish.:eek1:

i find it amusing that we all scoff at the idea of a 4000 dollar fish...when most of us probably have ten thousand dollar+ tanks that use hundreds of dollars of electricity every month:D

i guess there really are degrees of insanity;)
