Wrasse vs Wrasse pair aggression

Quick question to all the wrasse heads out there. Do you find that pairs or trios of wrasses are less or more aggressive than say an individual male? The reason for my asking is my lineatus is being his typical aggressive self which is fine, but was wondering if a female would calm him down or make him more aggressive.

If you add one female it will most likely be killed
If you add 3 or more then the lineatus might be more calm after he show his dominance but you have to remove him first and put him on the acclimation box when you introduce the harem. I am not an expert just based from my experience with them.
