yellow tail damsels question

I have a small reef tank with an dwarf African Flameback angel ,orchid dottyback(pseudochromis),and 3 tiny yellowtail damsels in that order .I plan on a percula clown and a shrimp goby to complete my stock. Will these damsels harass the other fish.Theres plenty of live rock.

If they've survived the dottyback, the damsels should be a piece of cake, but if you want something that is a damsel with paler color and less argument, try a blue [Caribbean] chromis.

Way too many fish for a tank that size. The only dwarf angel you MIGHT be able to fit in there would be a cherub.

I only want to know about the the YT damsels

and your experience with them. I already know I can do what I can do.----ps I have more years experience than you might think! Try doing a hippo tang in a 20, I had him for years. So friendly he would lift his back out of the water for me to touch him.Heres a pic of an old 15gal nano reef.

I have about 6-7 different species of damsels in my tank and the the yellow tail is one of the least aggressive only defending a small bolt hole. It also seems to stay small and is a slow grower compared to the other species. The problem maybe with the psuedo or the angel until the clown can find a host and the goby finds a home too.

A 20 high does not leave much territory for the fish, and those are all territorial fish. While that might hold a few more gallons than the 15, it is no bigger than the 15 in a manner that makes a difference to fish territory and in fact is smaller than a 20 long in that regard. IMO you should consider yourself fully stocked in regards to fish with your current load.

Damsel doing great,I highly reccommend these

guys. They get along fine .I think I will add 2 more fish to complete my little reef.Oh and just because I can !

Your along the lines of my likes-- 10 different species of tangs in a 120. Do what works for you! :) Also just because it works for one person does NOT mean it will work for someone else.

African flamebacks are one of the best

Ive had them in several reefs and so has a buddy of mine twice over. They are pretty much all the same. That is they leave the corals alone and really are peaceful yet provide that graceful swimming and coloration second to none. The Dotty back is an aggressive little bugger and I dont know who is worse that or the six line but I know they dont get along very well.

i agree with cb747. i have been following his thought pattern on i have 4 4-6" tangs in a 90 gallon with 2 clowns, a coris wrase, six line wrasse, arc eye hawk, royal gramma, and a flame angel.

as chris stated its what works for you. if you are going to go with clowns go with the black and whites they seem to be a little more aggresive and may do better then regular clowns with the fish you already have.
