Hello all
My name is Tai
Was attracted to reefing by my girlfriend and happily/addicted to reefing since 2000. However, my mom have been taking care of my tank for the past 4 years because I moved to NYC for dental school. Will be back to reefing again full time in 1 month:))))))).
my current system: 55gal/20 gal sump mixed reef.
Tank crashed and lost 95% of paly/zoo collections 2 years ago. Only have nuclear green, death, ppe and aog
250 watt MH/t5
euro reef skimmer and chiller
I joined RC: to make friends, and learn from others and stress relief from dental school. Thanks you all....your posts....pictures.......etc helped me made it this far and will graduate from NYU college of dentistry in 1 month.
There is still so much for me to learn and thanks all for sharing the knowledge...
Do you have any idea what caused the tank to crash?

I've been a reefing for: about a year
My current system is a: 50g breeder
with a: 20l sump, Bubble Magus NAC 3.5, TLF Reactor with NPX Biopellets and Sicce Syncra 5.0 return pump aand 3 MP10 wES
and the following lighting: 2 AI Sol blues running from 8am-9pm. Ramp at the beginning and end. Maximum is from 1-7 with whites at 40% and blue and royal blue at 90%.

and the following lighting: (2) 250w Aqua Medic hqi pendants with 14k Phoenix bulbs, with 2 strips of blue LED's
I joined RC for: I have been a member for several years...but really just starting to be more 'active'. I visit the site daily for the wealth of information it provides...and with hopes of helping others that need it.
I ran a very successful local aquarium store (Age of Aquariums), here in Charleston, SC for 8 years ('97-'04).

I love the colors of the 14k Phoenix. These bulbs are the only reason I haven't switched to LED's yet (well...other than LED pricing too). I am driving them with 2 Aqua Medic Electronic ballasts.

Here here, that 14k Phoenix is an awesome bulb indeed. Have you taken any PAR readings yet? You simply can't beat the glitter lines derived from an HQI IMO.

No, I haven't taken any PAR readings. Everything seems to do well...so I just leave it alone.

My current system is a: 55gallon main DT, 20L gallon Zoa tank, and a 20L frag tank
with a: 40g breederx2 sumps. Etss 600 skimmer.
and the following lighting: 55g-4 T5s, 20L zoa tank is not compelted yet but i have a 150w MH or i am going to use PCs. or mayb T5s and the MH. Not sure yet., 20L frag tank has 150w MH and T5 CAD light.
with:about 150 pounds of LR and lots of different macro.
and: 4 clown fish one black and white, one false perc, and 2 true percs(breeding pair) a yellow tang, black and white damsel, 2 chromis a blue damsel, a dottyback, a green mangrine, cleaner wrasse, 1 large RBTA, a few SPS and LPS about 20 or so different zoas.
I joined RC for: More information, Help other with the info i have, And to discuss reefing. (why else??)
and to learn: EVERYTHING!
as well as to share my: limited knowledge but am always learning something so im always happy to pass the info along

with a: cpr bak pak skimmer with airstone mod, finnex breeder box modded to be a fuge. I do not have a sump.
and the following lighting: 2 Boostled bulbs, soon to be 3.
with: Several types of zoanthids, mushrooms, white star polyps, and frogspawn. I have a firefish, clownfish, 2 FW mollies i acclimated to SW, and a yellow wrasse. Many blue hermits, emerald crab, peppermint shrimp, lots of snails.
I joined RC for: to learn and share about the hobby/passion
and to learn: anything and everything to be a better reef junkie.
as well as to share my: experiences, mistakes, and opinions

Hi my name is Josh.
Got a tank after watching Tanked in October.
Current setup 125g and after convincing my wife that my kids needed a tank wink wink I also have a 30g. Thank God there's no corals anonymous.
125g has a 20g refugium and a 30g wet dry
30g has 15g wet dry with mangroves and cheato in overflow.
125 has 3 250w 20k Halides with PC and 60" reefbrite blue led
30g has 4 T5's
I'm an addict and have over 150 different types of zoas and palys also like 7 different gonis, 5 hammers,5 frogspawn, leathers,6 chalices,6 sps,9 different kind mushrooms and dendros.
Fish I have clowns, damsels, yellow blue tangs, coral beauty, flame angel, lwnmower blemmy, gobies and some anthias.
I don't know much about corals but since i got the tanks I've met some incredible people that i annoy a lot with stupid questions and because of them my tank is awesome.
I was forced to join RC because they dont pick up their phone past 11pm lol..... so i have to get info from you guys.
I wish i knew how to take nice pics with my DSLR camera but i suck. some day I'll learn.
Bought a company that closed and have like 10 more tanks in my warehouse ready to setup except i dont have $$$$$$$$ lol. Some day!!!!!!

Been reefing about 2 years now and about a year a few years back.
First system was a 65 g with trickle filtration nice system till my ex sold it.
second was a 45g with canister filters and 4 96w pc light which transferred to my current system 90g with canisters with 6 54W T5 light and live rock.
Current systems stocks frogspawn, torch, hammer, acan, goniporia, feather dusters, GSP, GBTA, Kenya Tree, and my first Zoa a horizon........
I enjoy watching the tank and learnign as much as possible. sorta why I joined RC as well and to share experience.
Fish stocked: 2 green chromis, pair of occy clowns, scooter blenny, powder brown, hippo, ywg and pistol shrimp pair, coral banded shrimp, some hermits and snails as well.
want to learn as much as possible and see what else catches my eye.
