130 X 36 x 36 inbound...any suggestions?

hey there,
I still need to update but just can't find the time...was out of town for a bit without internet so I really need to catch up on a few threads...
the fish are doing great...Kevin did get me the 2 genis to go with the hybrid and is currently putting them thru his dd qt regimen, so imagine they will be here in a few weeks...
lastly, a baby, 1.25 inch Clarion will be here on Friday...lol, I wish I knew why....

What?!? Another one baby Clarion Ted??? I'd gladly take her off your hands if you can't figure it out ;)
 
Woohoo, my cb Clarion is getting a mate! Thanks for the heads up Ted :) Yes, Cortez Tropical Marine just got a shipment in. I found out they're a wholesaler and don't sell directly to the public but will deal with your lfs to get you one. Hopefully mine will be ready to for pickup this afternoon! One of the many benefits in LA!

Wayne has posted the info and I will do the same later...you will need to call Cortez Tropical Marine and go thru your lfs.

I decided to go with the 1 incher and will hopefully post some pics of her Friday...

I just wanted to let you know that I picked mine up and she's beautiful! Sorry to post my pic in your thread, but I wanted to show you mine. I'll create my own thread on the Reef fish forum. But anyway here's mine:

I'd say mine is a little over an inch. I can't believe your's will be even smaller as mine is tiny! Anyway, it's acclimating to my tank water right now. Hopefully it'll start eating soon. Good luck with yours Ted. It'll be fun to see ours grow up together!

She is stunning, they are such beautiful fish and these are tiny...looking forward to getting mine on Friday.

I can't thank Craig enough at Cortez Tropical Marine for obtaining these awesome fish..they are in California and will ship to your lfs...just have your lfs call Craig...there a few left but Koji is coming to town...

For those local to my area...Michael at NYA is getting 3 Clarion tomorrow- 2 small and 1 a bit bigger...I am a huge supporter of NYA and can't recommend Michael highly enough...he is a great guy, knows his stuff, does the right thing by his customers, and gets some of the rarest fish in the country...
 
Hey Ted, so do you have any advice on how to get them to start eating frozen food? How large were your original pair when you first got them? We're they easy feeders? What's your feeding regimen going to be?

I've got mine acclimated to my refugium. It started to graze right away. I fed it a variety of frozen food and I saw it mouth a few pieces but it spit it out. I don't think she was use to it yet.

Good news...She's eating!!! She's taken down a few good size pieces of Mysis so far. Hopefully she'll eat more tomorrow when she's more settled in. Here's a quick video of her eating:

Sorry, I forgot that they collect clarions in bulk. They were offered to us in a 6 lot, not six total. I just assumed the gems were theirs as well...
 
Are these clarions captive bred or wild caught?
They are beautiful whichever they are. I'm just curious as to their origin.

my current pair were 2 and 3 inches when I got...they ate immed and would try everything... pretty easy fish to keep...

Yes, both mels are females...
I would love to see a Clarion trio in my dt but will have to feel this one out...
