I kinda want to help, but I also feel like you don't realize you need help... Sorry man, but your tank is a mess and it's your own doing. Let me just qualify that, it has nothing to do with jealousy, having less experience than you, or being a "hater".

Elegance are you using any clean up crew, if not they might just give you a hand, they sure did help me in removing the algae.

Your tank has a ton of potential! With just a few small changes, I think this tank could be awesome in a few months.

I would take about 80% of the rocks out of the fuge. All they're going to do is trap detritus, that you can 't get to for removal.

I would go ahead and remove the bioballs. You could snatch them all out at once, but if it makes you more comfortable, just take a hand full out every few days. They're not helping the system at this point.

I would ditch the canister filter, and install a sock or other mechanical filtration that's easier to change out. I would put a small bucket where the canister filter is and place the dirty socks in it, every morning when you feed the fish. Then just throw them in the wash on the weekend.

There is a ton of detritus building up on the sand both in the DT and the fuge. I would get a small powerhead and blast the rocks with it. Then use a gravel vac to vacuum all the sand. If you get in the habit of doing this at each water change, you should see the nuisance algae diminish and coraline taking its place.

Do you have a ATO?

I do have a clean up crew:
40blue legs
15 bubble bee snails
40 nerite snails
sand star
2 longspine urchin

thanks for the advice....

Just so everyone know that I want to have a tank that is all purple with coraline and pristine. As long as my levels are in range and fish/corals are all doing well thats good. I dont understand why reefers want all there nutrients to not even exist. If they are consumed as soon as they are introduced then isn't that the natural way of the ocean? Tell me if I am wrong but the ocean has very small amounts of po4, nitrates, and so on..... that is the way the circle works. I thinks to many people see these TOTM that have absolutely no algae in them. Dont get me wrong they are very beautiful tanks and I would love to have one someday but its not the only way to have a successful system.

I am not trying to sound like I dont like or appriciate the advice that people on here are giving me. If that was the impression I was giving it was not my intention I just got a little defensive. Also I took some of the advice as attacks....but thats the thing with written words....they can be interpreted many different way, and several people did the same with my posts. So LETS JUST ALL GET ALONG. I will take peoples comments as open minded as possible and hopefully I get the same in return. If I feel someone is just trying to stir up an arguement or be rude I will simply ignore there post.
THANK YOU.

I use marine snow every couple days.
thank you

I would suggest looking into using some of the phytoplankton out there, such as Reed's PhytoFeast and DT's blends and feeding in moderation a couple of times a day for that gorgonian, along with frozen rotifers. The Marine Snow has some nice marketing, but it's still mostly water. The phytoplankton products from either Reed's or DT's will give more bang for the buck.
