260 Gallon Project

Picked up one of these for the tank, hopefully he will play nice with my other wrasses

I have also added quite a bit of acro from the last pictures I posted. Will post those soon also. Thinking about an Afur Angel for this aquarium. Anyone have any thought or experiences on these?

Suhweeeet! The pics from last month up above are beautiful Chris. I couldn't stop looking at the pics of the clowns w/ the 'nem. :)

Pull the trigger and get an Angel. Dont be scared. Mine are like best friends now and powder blue seems to be leaving him alone .

Get a Scribble Angel so i dont . I want one so bad waiting till i move

Asfur would be one of the better choices for a large SPS reef aquarium but it's not a given that it will leave corals alone. Plan on feeding it rather heavily.

tip:
research past posts using Asfur as your keyword in searches.
Asfur was on my short list along with Emperor, Majestic, Regal and several others.

I have been researching the Asfur and seems to be one of the better choices with the large Angels, it's always a risk with an angelfish but one I dont mind making for the sake of having this fish. My feeding regiment is pretty heavy now, just will have to cater a bit over to the angels diet now:beer:

Chris, that looks amazing. great pics...nice aquascaping.

Thanks Kat, aquascaping has been the hardest part, not because of my ability to aquascape but the clearance I have. My basement ceiling isn't all that high and of course my stand has to almost 4ft high!lol

Thanks Mel, since then my Amemone split and isn't quite that big anymore:(

Chris, great looking tank!

Hey John how you been? Hows your monster build going? Is the tank going?

I've been doing well. The build is slowly progressing. I'm about 85% done with the plumbing and I'm hoping to get my canopy on the tank within the next week. I'll do a post-mortem build thread after it's up and running. Progress will come to a halt shortly...Jess and I are expecting our first and she's ready to go!

Hi.,.. I really like how your setup is turning out. Thanks for the pics. Congrats on your little girl too.

I have a question for you if you get a chance. How are those lumenbright minis working out over your tank? I'm in the midst of tearing out some drywall, painting and other prep work for overhaul/remodel of basement + groundwork for an aquarium similar to yours. Mine are the pendant type but otherwise the same. The stand is pretty tall. I measured from where I figured the water line will be going over the overlows to the inside top of the canopy. After figuring in .5" of canopy top, it is about 18" to my basement ceiling joists. You said yours was about 18" too so I am very curious how that is working out with your light "cones" / spread. To be more specific, I am going to do 3 minis long across a 5' length tank. The tank is 5' (60") x 30" x 30", and will be set up barebottom/starboard. Thanks in advance.

edit: just reread last few posts and realized you don't have your proper canopy up over the tank yet. Well good luck with it and keep us posted. :)

Thanks!

One of my favorites Mel, model citizen. His colors are amazing in person. Doesn't touch a single coral, but of course I feed heavy so I hope he has no need too.

I just caught the end of this thread but plan on reading the whole thread.Really nice tank from what Iv'e seen so far.Very impressive to say the least ,the very least.
