This tank is great I love all the clowns ( this may of already been asked ) did you introduce all the clowns at once or add some then some later?
The original 27 clowns were from the same clutch. They were born and raised together. A few have gone missing. Last year, I added offsprings from the dominant pair. The ones I added when they were 3/8" did not do well. Maybe half of those survived. I added a few more when they were larger, maybe 1/2". I think most of those did well, so maybe there are 4-5 offsprings with maybe 23 of the original clowns. They are very hard to count and now, hard to tell the youngsters from the smaller of the orignal clowns. I did add three baby Clarkii to the mix in hopes that they would stay at the bottom of the hierarchy as they mature. So far it looks like they mostly beat each other up:worried2: I emphatically do not recommend adding Clarkii with other clowns but these are my pearl eyed babies that I don't have a place for (their parents wouldn't let them stay in their tank). I will pull them out and send them to the lfs at the first sign of aggression to the Percs.
Someone pm'd me regarding my stocking list so I will post here:
27 true percs (maybe 23 orig plus 4 offspring)
3 Clarkii (time bombs)
2 Mandarins
1 flame angel
1 blue hippo tang
3 green chromis (orig 7, I got 6 full grown 5 years ago)
1 royal gamma
1 pajama cardinal
4 banggai cardinals (orig 2 plus 2 offspring)
1 yellow tail blue damsel
1 flame angel
I would be interested if anyone knew what the life expectancy of the various fishes are. I think that clowns can live 35 years and cardinals 3-5 years. I think one of my Chromis was 10 years old.
