Ed, Nice tank build, good job. My question is on your Soloris lighting what is your thinking about from sun down to moon rise that there are no lights on and the same from moon down to sunrise. With the design that went into this lighting system seems like that could have been corrected. I also understand that there is not a true moon cycle, is that true on yours? There is a moon rise and moon set but not a 1/4 moon 1/2 moon and so on. Thanks in advance.

Thanks topfeeder.....during the transition from Day to Lunar there is about 30 sec where there is no light.....I read in their forum and apparently this is normal?? This is on Auto setting and I have not tried it in Timer setting to see if this is still the same?

As for moon cycle, there is a moon cycle as my moon cycle will comes on slowly and keep getting brighter during different time of the night and dimmed back again so I presume that's the cycle....at certain times, there seem almost no moonlight in the tank (as the moonlight is very very dim) and from reading in other forums, this is cause sometimes the Moon rotation is during the day?? U can fix this by adjusting the 'Longest day' and 'Shortest day' setting, I think !! Not played with all the features yet as my lights is currently off in my battle with HA... :D

Ed, Thanks for the reply. About the moon, I think you are talking about moon rise and then moon set. I am talking about the moon cycle, the 28 day cycle. It goes from no moon to a quarter to a half and so on. Do you have that as I spoke to several that said they did not. All understood that Solaris was to have this. Thanks again, and again good job. I agree 100%. Its sometimes more important to report the bad times. I know its not as fun as the eye candy, but the trenches are what makes the candy taste that much sweeter :)

I think it does have that 'moon cycle' as my moonlight shows different brightens in the 2 weeks I been testing...sometimes very bright and sometimes very dim... :)

This is Solaris Moonlight at it's brightest

You can compare to the previous Moonligiht shots the different intensity of the light...

really cool setup, one of the best one I have seen in while

Thanks ankur1113 for your kind words :D

Very nice, i have a 340 setup i just put together and i have some question, how long has your setup been running, did you cure the rock and sand before adding it or was it already cured. the reason i'm asking is because i had my marco rock in a tub and then added sand and ran it in a tub for 9 months before i added it to my display and want to know if i should expect a algea bloom. no algea to this date and system has been up for almost to months

Can you get blue leg hermits or scarlet reef hermits?

I have 2 blue leg hermits in my current tank but they are lazy buggers and won't touch the HA  Not seen scarlet yet?? :rolleye1:

Amazing tank and great build thread Ed.

Can you get some Emerald Green Mynthrax Crabs? They seem to eat bubble and hair algae pretty well in my tanks.

Hi djay....I've soak my sand and rocks for close to 6 weeks and 4 weeks respectively in RO with daily change of water until tested zero for PO4. My problem I think comes from my LR, which I added in to seed the tank as all the HA is only growing from those LR.... :mad2:

Hi bstoner - I heard of these guys but never met... :( worst thing is I don't even know how to tell them to try to get it for me with the language difficulties I have here so I usually only point to what they have and used my fingers do the communication :D

Any pictures as it will be helpful for me to show them?? :p
