30 rimless tank build

Sorry to hear about your alk spike. My starburst monti is too small to frag. But I can certainly give you a piece of the purple monti if you like.

Marvin

Thanks I'm gonna give it a little till I get the green hair out of the tank before I tackle on more frags

I'll read up on it never heard of sea clear.... only way I'll be able to run socks Is only on the output of my reactor

I can give you some sea Klear to try out. But you'll need 5 or 10 micron filter socks. Can get them off eBay or amazon.

Such a small tank to use lanthanum on. I say its not worth it. Although its cheap and effective. I'd try aggressive waterchanges and GFO, maybe give carbon dosing and skim wet as well. On Marvin's tank no doubt, that beast would suck up GFO like crazy, LOL, on a 30 gallon, not so much......my 2.

I'm currently running Gfo and my protein skimmer was offline for almost 3 weeks just making problem worse. That said now that's it's online again I'm just going to do more water changes now and change out my Gfo.

well guys just finished ordering my new piece of equipment. really didn't want to eat up the cost of ordering more t5 bulbs, and I have this thing about "going green" recently so heres my new toy that's on the way. also hoping that the bad spectrum from my t5 bulbs maybe an issue with the green hair algae. http://oceanrevivellc.com/goods.php?id=21

Well guys here's the new light installed and running taking it easy this time around on intensity of leds. Love the light small foot print not going to bump into it while having my hands in the tank is a huge plus :)

Figured let's do some coral pics :)

Nice tank. I hate to give you unsolicited advice but I don't like the look of that cable hanging down, LOL. Have you considered using one of these on the wall if you don't want to drill it?

Hahaha I agree with you on the cable when I first hung it up I was telling my self damn such a sleek fixture with a fat wire lol

OK cool, yeah I hate my system now because I have my T5 and 4th radion cable "hanging down", even then I wrapped them with something. I plan on running them through the wall when I finalize my light rack with all my other cables. Its a big project involving removing my sump so I've been a little lazy about it, LOL! Good to hear you're back on track!

So far so good on these lights been about a week now all corals are responding well no losses and less evaporation :). Still combating GHA I've been doing 10 gallon water changes now once a week past 2 weeks now and renewed my chemipure and phosguard.

Question for you guys this hair algae is turning now from dark green to light green /brown I'm wondering if this is a good sign........ but now I'm having hair algae spots (same color as described) pop up in locations there weren't before. I started to run phosguard last week in my sump and have been keeping up water changes. I've lowered my white intensity as well on the leds to help starve the hair algae of light. Here's a pic of what the algae currently looks like

Usually turning brown is a good thing. I hope it subsides, i recently restarted my tank because nothing I did helped.

Well guys here's about a month review with these new lights and I'm loving this update :) I take my pictures with these glasses as a filter. Picture 2 and 3 are the most incredible recovery I've seen for a month now my starburst monti looked completely dead with no color when I made the switch and has now done a full 360 :) rastas have popped out new babies as well as my punk rocker zoos never did that with t5 before
