47G SPS...Revamp

I had to take off the Kore5th for the time being due to space issues. I cannot put it inside my cabinet, and I had it outside beside the tank under a small table...my 1 year old son keeps playing with it. If I place the doser inside the tank cabinet I need to find a safe place for the dosing fluids. :facepalm:

As far as the doser goes, its a fine unit. I have no problems with it. THe magnetic stirrer does have its own power supply last time I checked. I didnt setup that because I havent started to dose yet.

Thanks. Reason asking separate power cord do related to size and placement management (I have similar cabinet concern).
Same here. I am still using my old GHL, and left my custom made doser idle in test bench ;-(....

Cannot post photos at moment buddy. I cannot say much because I cant talk about what work I do, but the camera and memory card I agreed to use for work and then had to hand in as evidence. :facepalm: Work will keep the memory card (64GB) as evidence and will give my camera back in the new year. They will also pay for a new memory card. But it means no photos for a while. :facepalm:

Hi,
How you do feed your corals with skimmat? Do you can use liquid skimmat or you take brown stuff from skimmer neck?
How often?

Sorry mate, I think you confused me with that aussie reefer they call Biggles...or Boggles...He posted a few posts above. Checkout his reef tank; its awesome...but some say he is a bit crazy...

I think he used both the liquid and the sludge that collects in the cup; I recall him using his PINK toothbrush to dislodge the sludge...

The iphone is useless for photos - quality and white balance is just crap. I'm getting a Samsung phone sometime next month. Anyway...I will likely get my camera back and a replacment memory card early Jan

With regards to the tank; not much to say. Growth is getting better. I'm up to 75ml of Fauna Marin Alk now. All good though as I was able to frag lots which helped me buy a load of Ecotech gear. Thats right I'm going 100% LED!!!

I've seen a few Radion lit tanks with good sps colours. My T5 are due for replacement soon and I want to try out 100% LED's as I am curious...T5 are great and both the ATI and PacSun units have proven themself to me; no issues there. I just want to have a bit of experience with 100% LED's and see for myself how they compare to T5 and MH.

I read of reports of SPS turning brown/slow growth etc etc etc. Will the same happen to my corals? We shall see...

As long as you aclimate properly you will have no problems.

Just measure the par of your current fixture and match the par in the Radions and them bring them up over 4 to 6 months.

Rui, I will be doing exactly that. I will measure the PAR levels under the PacificSun at peak match that as well as the duration. In fact my Apogee can do daily logging and produce graphs etc. Not sure I need to do all that though.

I have started to play around with the Radions; I have picked up 3 units; 2 are Gen2 Pro and 1 is Gen3 Pro (upgraded from gen 2 Pro as it came faulty). I also picked up a new MP10WES and MP40WES; this means that the I will have 2 pumps on the display rather than 3 and achieve a slightly cleaner look and still have plenty of flow.

Rui can you send me your Radion light schdule? I have bought an Ecotech Reeflink as well, so if you send me the etg file, I can see what sort of settings you are running. I think this is where most people fail with respect to LED's; setting the channels/intensity and duration wrong.
