Many thanks for all the nice compliments.
Amazing!!!!
Do you mind sharing the photo period of your Radium, T5 bank, and Leds?
Wholly crap Sahin great job man.. Tank looks stellar and congrats on tank of the quarter. I've been gone for a while and your tank has really came to be a piece of art.. I'll be stealing some coral shots for screen saver/motivation =)..
Hey buddy, good to see you back on the forum. Do you have a tank again?
Hey! Congrats on the feature, sahin!
Nice job.
The tank is looking spectacular.
Now, that was a photo dump to write home about!!!
How long have you had the blue and orange wrasse? Forget it's name.. Beautiful.
Looks like you are a go for photos..
No more holding back!
Impressive light fixture Şahin. You finally have got the light you have always wanted, a 20000K Radium MH bulb. Now you have no excuse for not providing more regular photo updates.
I am interested in the future performance of your skimmer as its neck is much wider than Deltec 1351. I am surprised that Deltec 1351 did not work as well as you expected. I have the AC version of that skimmer. It works perfectly for me. Mind due, mine has a German pump. Please keep us up-to-date with your new skimmer.
I hope you will get a tank cover soon. You must have paid good money for that fancy looking wrasse. When I kept a wrasse and a mandarin together, my mandarin lost a lot of weight because the wrasse was able to eat the crustaceans, such as pods, much faster than the mandarin. Please keep an eye on your mandarin.
Your tank looks great as always. Congratulations on your achievement on CanReef. Would you mind telling me the Latin name of the coral below please? I had the chance to get a frag from the same coral in Cockfields, but did not buy it in the end.
Cheers
Bülent
Oh and that sarmentosa makes mine look like poop! Mine is really low down though, where is yours?
Very beautiful Sahin. Congratulations.
448w + LEDs in 47Gal...wow !! Do you notice much difference in growth when comparing to t5 or Radions?

Congrats and well deserved. Are those uv leds youre using?
That is an amazing tank with mind blowing color! Congrats, and the writeup was well deserved.
I too am curious about how long your lighting period is.

Love it Sahin! Great growth and color. I think you now have the ultimate light setup. I'm loving the feminus wrasse, how long have you had her?
Congrats on the Canreef TOTM!
hello Sahin, very nice tank i love it
Im starting to running a LED/T5 DYI Hybrid, for me my biggest problem is to set the intensity of leds.
For your experience do you think this combination is good ?
T5 ATI CORAL+ 4Hours
T5 BLUE+ 4 hours
VERTEX LED WHITE 45% 8 hours
VERTEX LED BLUE 90% 10 hours
VERTEX LED ROYAL BLUE 90% 10 hours
T5 ATI CORAL+ 4 hours
T5 BLUE+ 4 hours
or i can turn off the white leds ?
Regards
Hi, I think I may have answered you on FB already, but I would certainly keep the whites at 35% minimum. When I had my ATI Hybrid the white LED's did help keep colours on some of the pink/yellows etc. The spectral graphs produced by almost all the LED manufacturers show a continuous spectrum from 400-630nm. If those graphs are to be believed, then the White LED's are a good thing (in not too great doses). My main criticism of LED's is the point source nature and lack of spread of light.
I am crazy busy these days with work and family I really dont have that much time to browse the forums the way I used to do.
I quoted the posts that require an answer and I hope I do answer all the questions so please let me know if I've missed anything.
With regards to the Feminus Wrasse: that fish is the most expensive fish I have ever bought...in fact other than highend equipement I've never even spent on SPS corals what I spent on that fish.
My UK buddies are rare fish fanatics and they've got me hooked on some of these nice wrasses.
I do have a tank cover. There is no way I'd risk keeping such a fish without a tank cover. I took the cover off to photo the tank.
Initially the Feminus was only feeding Mysis, but I have now successfully trained her onto lobster eggs, Hikari Pellets and even some flake. I've had her for about a month or more and she was settled at the LFS for a few weeks. When she came in the stomach was slightly sunken and tail end skinny. She has now fattened up and I have noticed she has grown in the time I've had her. My friends always used to bug me to get a Feminus wrasse but I always put it off due to cost and captive survival. But she is easily the best looking fish in the tank and I get quite a lot of joy seeing her progress.
With regards to the light: Giesemann Spectra 400w modified to:
1 x 400w Radium powered by Lumatek Selectable Ballast run at 400w setting
2 x ATI T5 - ATI CoralPlus Tubes using ATI Ballast & Reflectors from ATI and custom Active cooling
SemiLED LED strips using 16x445nm Diodes and 8x415nm Diodes @ 350mA
MH: 1:30 - 6:00 pm
LED: 12:00 - 9:00 pm
T5: 1 pm - 8:00 pm
Bulent and Michael; I keep the Sarmentosa in the middle of the tank. Its being hit with 450+ PAR. When I recieved it the colour was only green. I was disappointed as I had one years ago with pink tips. Over time this one has developed pink tips which I am pleased about. The person I got the frag from confirmed his colony is just green. So there is hope for yours Bulent. The green pigment wasnt as intense when I first got it as well.
RADIUM still the gold standard...can i ask what type of sand you use and does it stay put?
I used TMC sand. Iinitially it moves about as I have a lot of flow, but once the bacteria get hold and various worms colonise the sandbed it pretty much stays put. I run the MP40 at 65% and MP10 at 100% on various modes and in my small tank the sand stays put.
I hope to record a video showing the corals but havent had the time so far. I will get it done soon though.
