50 Cube SPS Zeo Reef

Really? That's good to know matt. Thanks for sharing.
I've needed in the past, sea hare mostly for gha but most of the times died suddenly within a couple of weeks. For as long as it stayed alive did awesome job.
Nice to know that can help with leafy one:thumbsup:

Dom, your boring collection of zoas is really nice!... Although boring.. But nice!
Acros! Niiiiiice!!! Really nice photography as well. Are you colour correcting at all? Your shots have a very natural, warm look.
I'm just using a custom white balance on the camera and not touching them after that, I have for some of these new pics as the new tubes have changes the colour temp and white balance then lol I'm pretty happy with the zoa collection though!

I've never spend so much time staring at zoas before buddy:eek1:
Awesome collection you have over there, welldone!
Glad to see things are so much better, regarding the algea
Tank looks beautiful and your acros are what matt said
Do i see 4 coral plus in the reflection or am i half blind?:wildone:
haha thanks Mike! I appreciate it, just don't let Andrew see that!
Things are doing really well at the moment and the bulbs were sort of like 4 blue+ but I've changed them now (read below lol)

Beautiful coral colorations mate...
Thanks for the kind words mate :)

Great set of photos, tank is really looking awesome despite your small hiccup with the Ca/Mg.
Yeah the tank handled it like a champ! I did drop the lighting for a while just incase there was a little extra stress from it.

Like the zoa collections.
Thanks :D

Merry Christmas and Happy new year
This thread needs some post Xmas and pre New Years photos.
Happy New Year matey. :)
You said it, Sahin!
Thanks guys! I hope you've all had an amazing Chrissy, holidays (for those that don't celebrate Christmas) and New Years too!! Your wish has come true though as an update is incoming ;)

Well I suppose I'm due for another update as I haven't posted one in a while! This one is a little old anyway as I took these pics a week or so ago and I'm currently up in Sunshine Beach for a week on holiday! So it's my way of getting some tank fix without having a tank haha

SPS are all looking really nice at the moment and the tank is loving the new bulb combo too! I'm now running all Giesemann tubes as that's what Dave has and I can't be arsed mucking around and ordering them online! So I've now got two Pure Actinics and two Actinic Plus tubes going! I may go to three Actinic Plus tubes depending on how I continue to enjoy the colours which I'm loving at the moment! Anyway enough talking and on to the pics!

??

She's still my pride and joy and she's still loving life!! My t. maxima :D

Zoa's are looking like the tits at the moment and they're loving the acropower that I'm dosing at the moment too :)

Amazing colours! All of those corals looking lovely mate - including the Zoas! Happy 2016 to you.

Looking absolutely amazing Dom! Looks like your algae problems are behind you now, yeah? Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough, but I didn't see any at all! :P Happy New Years!

Colors are looking great Dom, really pleased to see the reef going well again buddy. Try swapping an actinic for a lagoon blue rather than another actinic plus mate, i think you'll like that mix with the radium. :)
That SSC looks like a very happy and colorful little camper lol

Crazy nice colours, Dom!!
Like I mean crazy!! The ssc is fantastic but all the colours look amazing.
What's the coral in the 6th shot, to the right. White body with blue purple tips.. It's nice.
All your algea issues seem to be behind you..
I forget if you are testing for nutrients.. Curious if you noticed any change in nutrient levels after all of you algea went away..
When is the last time you gave us a fts??
Did you happen to snap one before leaving on vacation? :)

Thanks Sahin :) I'm really happy with how the tank is going, there's always a few tweaks and aspects I'm not super happy with but you know, that's us nuts for you :wildone:

That first pic is a stunner
Yeah, that's a Biggle's SSC and it is just GORGEOUS!!

 and +1

Happy New Year Dom!
Those pics are stunning mate! The first one though had me picking my jaw up from the ground, mesmerizing :eek1:
Thanks Perry! You too mate :)
The white balance is a little off from the pure actinic bulbs but it's pretty close to what I see looking down. Yeah in the last 2 months that SSC has just gone crazy! It's obviously in it's happy spot haha

Wow Dom, looking fantastic as usual. Happy New Year!
Cheers Mark! You too matey!

Not quite, I've stopped all algaefix dosing and I'll be picking it up again once I'm back on holidays. Things were looking a little stressed from the Mg/Ca bimpty-bumpty so I stopped it to avoided any major problems during the recovering period. Really stoked with how things are looking though!
You too Josh :)

Great looking sticks
Thanks mate!

Thanks Andrew, I am too. Dreading the move now that things seem to be doing solidly lol but I may have some new plans for that haha a frag tank may be in the making. Just need to do a costing and planning! Dave was saying he gave you a lagoon blue to try out, I'm pretty sure I actually have one laying around so I'll swap one of the pures out and give that a whirl!
Yeah it's killer! Absolutely loving that spot!

Crazy nice colours, Dom!!

haha thanks Matt, it means a lot coming from a hardened sps keeper such as yourself!!
Not sure but I wish it would grow a little quicker haha It's in a pretty shitty spot which is probably why it's barely grown but I'm thinking about where I can put it to get it pumping lol it would look super as a colony!
I'm sure I have one that's a week or two old, I'll scroll back and see if it's a new one or an old one I've posted already haha
I never really tested them but I've always had zip, no nitrates and no phosphates. Even doing a triple sensitivity test with salifert I get no reaction! It would explain why the zoa's go nuts with a little acropower lol I really want to swap from acropower to the new Polyp Lab Colours I think lol but that's 1 drop to 1000L haha I'd need to be extremely careful!!!

Acropower and polyp lab colours are completely different products.
Acropower is mostly aspartic acid and colours is a full mix of various amino acids..
If I were in a position to use either, I'd think about using both.. Maybe alternate them or something... But go slow..

Ah well I've got the wrong polyp lab product then lol it's their brand brand new one that is only being given out as testers at the moment with a ridiculous dosage of 1 drop per 1000L :uhoh3: It's meant to be completely and absolutely amazing! But I'd have to be using a quarter of a drop haha

No, Dom, that's the stuff. The version I have is 1 drop per 250g.. So, that's what you got.. I was using a drop a day in my system but the cyano enjoyed it a lot more than my corals, I think. With my nutrient levels, I'm not adding any aminos.
It is excellent for lower nutrient systems..
It contains no aspartic acid.. But has a very comprehensive list of aminos..
You could maybe mix it with RO water to dilute it..
