Shhhhh.. law086 you were not to let the cat out of the bag... They don't need to know that I went back to the warehouse (where the tank still sits) and unwrapped it to take new pics to PS'd it on the stand :D

Thanks Travis :) I just can't even put into words how I feel about this being done and over with and the tank being on the stand in one piece... I will have to say, they did take awesome care in moving the tank...

As for your description on the "emergency drain" I think I know what you mean... Letââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s try to put it with my setup nowââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦ Since my 2" drain will come out of the back of the tank and 90 and pretty much go horizontally (at a slight angle downward) to the ref... I would have the T feeding the skimmer facing the floor and before that my "emergency drain" could be facing the ceiling and I could have it 90 and 90 again going into the ref or sump for a backup drain ?? Does that make since ??

That makes more sense now. I thought the drain of your tank was dropping down vertically to the sump. If that's the case a y fitting or a tee would work for you as long as the flow to the skimmer was pointing downward and you had the ball valve to control flow.
Glad to see the tank on the stand. I think you were better off going the route you did. It wouldn't have been worth some one getting injured over.

Yes, that would work fine. Just make sure the outlet of the drain into the refugium will be lower than the tee in the drain for the skimmer.

Woohoo!!!

Now hurry up and rest up, because I think you are on Day 10 of the Twenty Eight Day Project. I'll have to consult with the Time Keepers, of course... ;)

That statement that tomasz quoted was the exact phrase I considered putting in my signature line for a few days.

It appears that it took me longer to type out my DIY plan than it took to get the tank moved downstairs. Did you take pictures of how they moved it, or were you helping as well? Did you get your paycheck too? hehehe

Fire up the RO/DI now....its gonna take some time to make all that water.

So you think that would work ?? I will try to get a pic up in a day or two...

I agree, that is why I went ahead and had Custom Movers do it... Like I said they made it look easy, but they move things everyday, just not 600gal tanks into basements :D

What, no SPS colonies in it yet?

Get a move on!

LOL, nothing in it right now... I have not even vacuumed it out yet :( I am going to get working on some things here in a little...

At this time I don't have any SPS in any of my tanks... I do want to get a few hardier pieces... But I am not looking to have any livestock in it for prob at least 3 to 4 wk from when I get water in it as I want to make sure everything is right and fine tuned as I don't want to rush this...

Wouldn't that tank look better on the other side of the room?;)

NO....... Smart *** :D Looks perfect right where it is... I think when I go to move (later down the road) this big baby is staying... If it does come out I will prob check around to see if anyone would be able to silicone it back together and I would take it out in pieces and then place it back together at the new house... Only if the tank is worth keeping... I am not even going to worry about that until if/when that time comes...

Hmm, The way I was laying it out in my head was the 2" drain would come out of the wall 90 to the left horizontally at a slight angle downward to the ref which would sit higher then the sump... The fittings would be as follows from the BH :

Sched 80 BH
90 to the left
Hitting a T facing up that would have two 90s on it to drain into the ref "emergency drain"
Hitting another T facing down for the feed to the skimmer
Hitting a True Union Ball Valve
Then into the Ref

If I am coming out of the BH and going at a slight angle downward and I have the "emergency drain" before the skimmer feed then the "emergency drain" would be slightly higher... Does that make since ?? I will try to get a pic posted to here soon...

LOL, thanks for keeping track of time for me...

Once they got here it took them a little over 2hrs to get it off the truck and into the basement... But really thank you for the write up... Others might be able to benefit from it and I can have something to refer back on at a later time if I would ever to need it... I think my next tank will be built on-site, especially if it going to be bigger then this one LOL...

I took quite a few pics of the move, I wanted to use my cousin's camcorder but did have access to it at the time they came :( I had alot of other stuff on my mind the day/night before that I forgot to get with him about it... But I do have a good amount of pics that I will get posted here soon... I did end up helping a little, I did quite a bit of running around, I can't just sit back and watch, I need get to a little hands on action...

I wanted to get the RO/DI unit going already, but I still need to clean the tank out, I am debating once I get it cleaned out, if I want to start filling it up to a few inches below the overflow because I really want to see how the Tunezs are going to do in the hidden areas....
