Congrats on getting that tank wet asnatlas! That's great news.

I buy DI resin from SpectraPure but there's also a place called Resin Depot, I buy a gallon of resin at a time, it's realativley cheap. (That is a very odd statement in this hobby) I have links on my computer at the office I'll post'em tomorrow.

Thank you Bax...

I am always interested in saving money with this hobby :)

Thank you Chuck I am getting more and more excited every time I come down to check on the tank, It will still be a few wks before its ready but I am getting there... No reason to rush...

Shawn,
Turn your heaters on before you start to measure the salinity. The temp difference will affect your salinity readings.

I will not be measuring the SQ until the temp is up to the 79deg or so that I will be running the system at... I will need to be adding like over 5x buckets of IO salt (160gal per bucket)... Once I start adding the first few buckets I will turn on the heaters and once I get to the 5th + bucket is when I will be using my Refractometer and the temp should be where I need it at that time...

so were ya at on the fill up as of today?

Well as of 1 PM (39.5hrs non-stop) the water was around 13.5" in the display... (94.5x46.5x13.5 = 257gal) 53% to go...

At this point I can only go another 11" more (209gal) before I will need to shut off the RO/DI unit until I am fully finished with the sump / ref as in 11" more I will be reaching the return lines that I don't have hooked up to the Seq Dart... Monday while I am at work I need to make yet another trip to Savko for a few pieces...

As of 6:30 PM (45hrs non-stop) the water is just over 15" in the display... (94.5x46.5x15 = 285gal) 48% to go...

Before I left for work today at 7:30 AM I had almost 19" of water in the tank... (94.5x46.5x19 = 361gal) 34% to go...

I shut off the booster pump to slow down the flow some before I left as I can only fill the tank like another 5 to 6 inches before I need to cut it off to the display... I work 12hrs days but my wife will be home and can monitor it but I just felt a little more comfortable with it filling a little slow since I am not there...

Once I get home tonite after work and puppy class I am going to try to some work done on the sump / ref and hopefully get that knocked out by tomorrow or Wed at latest...

Went to Savko and spent yet another $100.00 :rolleye1:

Picked up 2x 1/4" John Guest Quick Connect Valves (wanted 4 but they only had 2 in stock)... They are over $6.00 ea... Needed another 1.5" True Union Ball Valve... Picked up 20' of 1.5" pipe and some other stuff... While I was there Serdar came in to get some things and we spoke for a few, can't wait until he gets his store up and going...

WOW that booster pump really works... I turned off the booster pump at 7:30 AM today before I left work where the water was at 19" when I got home tonite after puppy class (14hrs later) I barley had 20 3/4" in the tank... I have the booster pump back on since I am home now... Still have about 4.5" more I can fill before I need to stop... Going to work on my sump and ref now...

r u going to use rubbermaids? if not whats the plan? man i wish you woulda went with a plywood sump/fuge like serdar has. i think ill be incorporating one into my system and would love to see a step by step build of one lol
