A few of my SPS

Looking good Greg.
Thanks Sahin - slowly moving back in the right direction.

Phew! Although, I'd have been pretty bummed to loose that particular coral as well!
Yeah I really liked that piece.

Sorry to read that greg:(
What is it a total loss?
Did you manage to save at least a small tip?
Thanks Mike, I was waiting to frag it and when I returned from holidays it was completely gone.

Here's a pictorial update - things seem to be going in the right direction with many corals on the mend & showing promise again after the RTN fiasco although there are still lots of "under-performing" pieces in the reef (pictures of those not included :spin3:)

This is a new colony from Reef Raft Canada - I believe it's A.spathulata and although still pretty brown I have high hopes for this bad boy.

Partial tank shot featuring Doug's Granulosa with side view although that piece looks way more colorful top down.

Red Planet colony is recovering nicely

I am diggin' what this one is doing - When I first got it I thought it may be A.subulata but now I am leaning towards A.rosaria. Either way I really like it and it may be my new fave of the week.

I like the snow white polyps contrasting with the "maroonish" color of the corallites.

This baby is finally starting to show some color

These next two are said to be A.latistella (AKA poison ivy & frozen ivy)
Time will tell as they are just starting to get the proper colors but have a long way to go.

I have high hopes for this little a.humilis

This is the craziest piece in my tank - why settle for one color when you can produce pink, purple & blue simultaneously?

What do you call the maroon one with white polyps? Nice Efflo too - didn't know you have one! It's new-ish?

Good to see pictures of living acros, I was worried. Keep on keeping on. :)
Yep, I hate taking pix of dead stuff. Thanks for looking

Not sure of the exact species on that one yet although I am pretty sure that blue acro is the same species and I plan to do an experiment with a frag of each on the same plug and see how they get along. I have two efflos that I picked up after my RTN problems stopped. That purplish one and a green one, both were about 5-6 inch "colonies" with perfect shape and are finally starting to color up. You can see an edge of the green one in that multi-colored mille picture. Something happened to the green one while I was on vacation and it lost flesh in an area about the size of a loonie. I think another coral had got knocked into it or something and the efflo lost the battle. In fact I think it was the blue acro like the maroon one.

Sigh of relief. I am so glad to have read the latest update Greg.

Everyone has a different taste for corals, but my favourites in the above pictures are Acropora granulosa and the red planet (and perhaps the solid blue one :inlove: ). Is the granulosa a fast grower? Mine (a frag from a wild colony) takes forever to grow though it shows good coloration.

You have an awesome coral collection greg as always.
Colors and general health of the corals took away all the worries i had since i read about the recent issues:beer:

That side pic of the granny is :inlove: :inlove:
Does the encrusting monti kill any of the neighbouring corals?

Excellent update! I love that granulosa and the purple pink blue piece. Everything is looking really good

Thanks very much. Yes granulosa is typically a pretty slow grower. This one started from a frag about 4 years ago. It started as a brown blob with very little growth and stayed like that for the first 1.5 years but now seems to be doing well..

Thanks Mike, yes the "rainbow monti" is a hassle and I have to chip it off the acro bases every few months.

Thank you, those are some of my faves as well. Partly because of the way they look and partly due to sentimental reasons because I have been nursing both of them along for the past 4+ years.

Greg, those shots are looking really good..
Like they never knew there was something going on in the tank..
No matter how often we feel we have our tanks cruising along, sometimes Mother Nature has to throw us a curve ball..
I guess it's her way of letting us know who's boss..
Nice to see the lush colours and velvet pe!
