Ryan, I was talking about your newest reefling - the mantis.

How on earth could your forget that?

You can't move - that swimming pool that you built needs to be well-used first. :fish1:

So Marc came by the other week and after looking into the tank for about 20 seconds, he tells me I have a mantis shrimp.

Oh well. Makes me a little more cautious when I put my hand in the tank.

I finally got my old camera fixed, so I decided to post some updated pictures as promised.

Hey, nice to see an update from Ryan in Ryan's thread. :D

What's this coral again? A. millepora? I wanted to mark the image I took recently with the right coral ID.

This is an Acropora Millipora. This is the coral that I gave you that you have in your angled tank.

It is one of the hairest millis I've ever seen, and the coloration makes me think A. prostrata. Thanks for the ID.

My hat is off once again to the Texans! Wow...some sweet corals there. Very nice.

Thanks! Technically, I'm a Michigander! I grew up in Detroit and moved away in 2000. I grew these all from small frags!

This tank is all micronesiaxas!:D

 Well you guys are doing something right in the Lone Star State. I still feel so bad for Gabriel. Now I am dealing with a massive equipment control failure!

Your tank looks great!

How big is your mantis???

Ever hear any snapping from the tank? I do from mine all the time and always wonder if there's one still lurking from the 30 pounds of TBS rock I originally used nearly five years ago now. I know there are still pistols in there, but I never see those either.

wow those SPS have some beautiful colors!

Thanks Rob! IME, I have found that keeping stable alkalinity with the right lighting is really the key to great coloration. Phoshates are over rated. Of course you need reasonable levels.

Hey Bax,

I have never ever heard any snapping. I really thought that he was joking! TBS rock is pretty much ensured to have a mantis in it. Good thing I don't have any crabs!

Ryan - the tank looks great, looks like lots of growth since last time I saw it. Love the pink/blue tip mille. What's that green one at the bottom of your post?

How did you know that I tried to post last night? Weird. Anyway, here are a few shots that I took last Pm with my 1997 camera. Point and shoot and hope for the best.
