How did you know that I tried to post last night? Weird.

If you try to post but it doesn't go through, we still get email notifications. Sometimes we get several as the person tries repeatedly.

And from time to time, I'll reply to let them know we are just waiting for it to appear. :)

Your corals seem to be coloring up more.

They look better in person and would look much better on the SD card on your new camera:D

Hey Marc,
I think I remember you have had success with "Chemi Clean" and was wondering if "red slime remover" is basically the same stuff? I can get the red slime remover at the lfs but not chemi clean.
TIA!!

I've not used Red Slime Remover because of iffy results posted, but I do use RedSlime Control by Blue Life USA and like it. (All the Blue Life stuff is named "control", btw: Phosphate Control, RedSlime Control, Aiptasia Control)

Thanks Marc, based on that I called around and found some chemi clean just a little further on down the road...

I dealt with red slime a year ago, and in the past I used red slime remover without any problems FWIW.

Thanks, here are some more

Looks like it is getting too full Ryan. What's the plan? I know you have a plan! ;)

the plan is:

to give me more corals

looking great Ryan

So I finally got around to doing water changes that is appropriate for my system. I bought a 96 gallon rolling trash recepticle and used it for the first time.

I washed it out but became really paranoid about what chemical coating may be in the plastic b/c the salt mixed up really cloudy.

I decided to run some carbon. I have a closed loop with 1/4 inch female adaptors. I modified the container by placing a 1/4 inch male adaptor at the bottom of the container and I drilled 5 holes in the top of the lid and kept the carbon media in the container.

I'll post pictures later. I've got to be up in 5 hours.

Would like to see pics of that carbon setup.

How's the tank doing? Been a while since we got an update. :)

The RUbbermaid Totes? I never had the cloudy issue but I did rinse them quite well. All plastic gives off some reaction but FWIU th etotes are food safe. Maybe new kind of plastic since I got mine 4 years ago?

Good to see you back around here!!!

Here is my innovative flash of ingenuity.

I'm surprised I didn't think of this earlier. I'll keep it on for about a week.

All is well after 100 gallon water change, if fact my ORP jumped up to 389. I've been using Ozone and trying to get it higher now for the past 2 years with no avail. No better way to remove DOC's than a big water change. Now if I do this every month I can finally get my tank back to where it should be.
