Acro dead or alive ??

I bought a Acropora Tenuis and a Acropora Gomezi. The Tenius was active with in a day. The Gomezi hasn't spit out any hairs or anything and the lines on the acro are starting to get this thick brown look to them. It is still blue at the tips but the body is being taken over by the brown.

How do you tell when these die? I'd say I've had it 3 weeks.

they will be stark white with no tissue or polyps when dead, unless they get algae growing on them
